... it has to do with the value of the laptops? Owning MBA is a bit of a status now. Ubuntu and Windows machines are a dime a dozen and it's easier to buy one than bother cracking.
That's what we get when we embrace fucking proprietary formats. It's only as good as the single manufacturer cares for it. Being bitten by it time and again for several decades we still behave like Homer Simpson - "oh, shiny!".
Wow, thanks for the link. Contrary to popular (and my before) belief he was burned _not_ because of his heliocentric views (which had little scientific base) but for his other herecies in theological issues. And he was a priest.
Not that I approve burning naked people, but then any kind of death penalty is IMO barbaric... Ah. We'll have to wait several more centuries.
UFS+SU is still much, much faster than any Linux filesystem in real world usage. Plus moving a huge amount of data does not lock other disk-accessing processes, doing "chmod -R.." on a huge tree IME is incomparably quicker on FreeBSD (like 5-10 seconds on FreeBSD whereas on the very similar tree it virtually died for 15+ minutes on RHEL/Ext3), etc.
Simple question for Billy: if you do buy Yahoo, are you going to continue using its technology platform, like FreeBSDs etc, or are you gonna kill all that and try to replace it with your stuff? How much Yahoo's value are you ready to burn in the process?
I don't know... there are a lot of DVD players with no region encoding. And most of those which are shipped with it can easily be "fixed" with a cheatcode on remote. Google for it. I fully expect that BluRay's protection will be a similar scarecrow.
Also - many 2nd/3rd tier manufactures make players which can skip advertisements and FBI "warnings".
Yes, I'd say it is. It is fast etc enough for me to even contemplate switching to FF (again) from Opera. Too bad that most extensions so far don't install to FF3 "normally" without hacking things.
Been using Beta3Pre occasionally for several weeks now. It's mostly OK unlike Beta2 which had numerous bugs and problems.
Though when you go to absolutely legitimate site (that has been infected just last night) with IE and through many of its holes you now got a trojan installed on your machine, how is that a user's fault? Apart from using IE this user did absolutely nothing wrong or stupid.
Oh, sorry... I should've posted yet another joke about MSWindows and go like - "it's OSS, no problem, tomorrow the patch will be out and I will have no problem updating kernel on all my servers and rebooting them", right?
Y'know - Windows is bad not only because it has "defects" but primarily, IMO, because it's so weak, it's basically defective by design with no hopes of fixing. For example - when it's gonna have a real filesystem with name/file (or inode if you like) separation? So I can do updates of things without reboots? So I can rename/replace/delete the file even if it's (gasp) opened or if some other process has CWD in the directory I want moved/deleted?
Or ulimits? Will Windows ever have those? How do you even run any real server without ulimits?
Eliptical or not it will surely have its lowest point (of orbit) lower than ISS. Since ISS flys as low as reasonably possible without touching the detectable athmosphere it should be enough for the glider to touch the thin air and "spiral" down to surface from there.

OMG, OMG.. Yes, I wish!
"Keeping it retarded" is more like it.
(Need _yet another_ example? File dialogs. What you mean I cannot have a preview when selecting an image to attach?!)

crap...
I'd take a moonbase over single, or series of missions to Mars. One way or round-trip, does not matter.
I don't think that, unlike, for example, WebMail service, you can release a phone model with "Beta" label attached.

Closer to 6 => Opera, FF2/3 (similar enough), IE6 + IE7 (quite different sometimes), WebKit + Konqueror (lots of differences too).

Windows must die.

Frankly, as long as it's not open-source I don't care if it's WINE'd or "native" port.
And not every Free OS user runs i386 Linux, BTW.
As for the first link, I can do - and did - all 11 bullet points.
And I'm only 33.
You mean "Vertical Helix Scan" and "Digital Video Disc"? (and I like these original "decodings" better)

It does spread.

No.

LOL.

Linus's VM games strike again. Crap. Can we please have some stable kernels again? Any hope?
In the mean time I only use FreeBSD for my servers.

IE needs it more.
> But how am I going to watch movies?
Like you usually do - just open a *.torrent file, wait a bit, double-click on the movie.
