I also am looking at the Toshiba. My other consideration is the dell 8200. One of the two main differences that I can see is that the dell has a 16X10X32 CD-RW while the toshiba has a 8x8x? I had some questions that no one can seam to answer about the Toshiba's Graphics system, would you (or anybody else) be interested is trying to answer them?
    1. What do you think of the Toshiba display? How is the level of brighness. Can you see it in sunlight or is it for indoor use only?
    2. How well does the graphics card do in terms of image quality at 1024x768 @ 80Hz+ on an external monitor?
    3. Can you realy play a DVD to a TV set with good image quality or does it act jerky and have trouble puting up a clear image?
    4. How easy is it to run an external display and an internal display at the same time with different views?

    True.
But what I would like to see is the ability to block specific advertisers. Lets say that I do not what to see any ads from company X, if I do not see ads from company X then I would see more ads that are relevant to me and that I am more likely to click on. Advertisers would also like this since it gets them exposure to people who want to see their ads, and not to people who have no interest.

I would also like to be able to specify categories of ads to see (or not see). Such as: New Ads (ads that have been on slashdot for less than X amount of time. I should even be able to chose to see ads for companies that I have blocked, if they are new.), ads from a specific company (i.e. M$, thinkgeek, sourceforge, etc), ads for a type of product (i.e. Any kind of caffeine drink, or for computer equipment).

I would also like to be able to block a specific ad regardless of company. For instance I have seen the hooded sweatshirt ad for thinkgeek more than enough. They do not make them in my size, I am tired of seeing them and it is time to move on to newer and better ads. Since I can't/won't buy from that ad Advertisers only benefit from me not waiting their impressions.

You might also allow advertisers to override my preferences (at a premium cost) if they think that they just have a product that will change the world and I must see it. But I should get extra credit for that.

One last think, you used to have a list of advertisers and the ads they showed, bring it back that way if I see an ad and want to find it after I have left the page I can look through all the ads and find it. It would be really nice if you tracked what ads I had viewed (and in what order, or at least by date) so I could narrow down the number of ads I looked through. I think that advertisers would be very happy to learn that I came back a week after seeing their ad to click on it and find more information or but it. (Hey Taco, it's a value added service to you advertisers.)

Just my two bits. What do you think?

I find it funny that now day's people assume that if a gun is brought to school it is for the purpose of harming another. As late as 1970 many Highschools in this country had a shooting team. Wow, a state sponsored, fire arms awarness club. What a thought. And you know what is better yet? Members of the school shooting club where encouraged to bring their riffles and amunition to school with them. (that's right I said they brought a gun and the ammo to use it to school).
I ask you how many storys to you remember from any time prior to 1950 where anyone walked into a school and started shooting. I don't remember any. Why is there this quadry? At that time kid's brought guns to school, and where tought two things, to use the guns safely and responsabily, and disipline, yet there where no shootings with armed kids walking arround school. Now we have zero tolarance rules that allow things like a 10 year old being expeled from school because she had a 10 inch chain connectin her walet to her tweaty bird key chain. Kid's afraid to come to school. Guns are universaly considered "bad".

What changed? The schools, the kids, society?
I don't know, but I do know that gun's are not the problem, not are kids. The problem is a system that does not require accountability, responsability, or even reasonability (now there is a rare concept).

You would then be left in the possition of proving that you did NOT send the email, a nearly impossible task. As to the paper form, anyone can send the leter, from your town, using your return address, and then YOU have to prove that you did not do it. That is why the system you proposed is not a good one.
