Correct. At the end of the day the companies don't care about the government having the information, they just to sell it to them, not have the gov collect it on their own.
... we are screwed.
If our best hope against government surveillance are companies who spend most of their time collecting our information to sell to the highest bidder, then we are in for some heavy government surveillance.
If I'm hungry and eat a handful of almonds - say 100 calories - the fiber and fat content makes me feel satiated for several hours and signals to my body that I'm full. Craves go down and blood sugar remains in a normal range.
If every time you are hungry you eat 100 calories of almonds, you can actually begin taste the drought in California.:)
I'm actually fairly certain that 5 of the 6 banned subs are about Eric Cartman. That last one is just to throw people off reddit's censoring of SouthPark.
For me, it would not even need to be free, it would just need to be less horrible where i live (greater DC area). My commute by public transit is 1.5 hrs, or 20 min by car. Also, my car does not frequently smell of urine and vomit, the same can not be said for the metro.
I have one at work. It is an adjustable one that can be raised or lowered with a hand crank. At first I was super impressed that my new office would have all adjustable height desks, but then i realized how crappy the crank is. It takes 2-4 minutes to go from standing to sitting and 3-5 the other way, and since it is a hand crank, you cant do much else while doing it. So, essentially i have a standing only desk and when my feet are tired I un-dock my laptop and sit under my desk. TL:DR= Standing is good, cranking is bad.
Really? Often? No.
If you wish to stay with this canon metaphor, I think you'd be better off saying something along the lines of:
"Poorly designed / manufactured canons blow themselves to bits."
A properly designed and manufactured canon is capable of hitting its mark with ease, with absolutely no risk of self detonation.
I began playing video games of all types at a very young age which sparked my interest in computers. My interest in computers led me to take a CS class in HS where I had the realization that computers were more than just toys and tools for other (boring) work. I got my CS degree and now work as a software developer, and I still play a ton of video games as well.
Actually, the test shows that is not fairies flying out of the engineer's butt, but rather invisible unicorns pushing the unit. Those tricky magical bastards....
The University I went to had what the physics chair called the "wet science" building. It housed Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. His explanation for this was the fist two dealt with a fair amount of fluids and the third was watered down.

... The Internet comes out against Jeb Bush.
And Salty as hell.

Idk, I think i'd aim at the pervert, not the camera.

I was at Ikea looking at that over the weekend. I have no need for a new desk right now, but I nearly came home with it.

I liken it to dinner parties and other social venues. You get invited, you may not want to get dressed up and go but you go anyway.
Then I have elected the social media equivalent of saying I'm busy that night so i can stay home and eat pizza.... awesome!
