Jan 13, 2004 is the date of the last patch released for SQL Server. That is not counting SP4, which was released on May 6, 2005. Since SP4, there has been nothing. That's pretty damn occasional to me.
Yes, AdAware had actually removed some stuff completely from their database. It was a much bigger offense than what Microsoft has done. But we're talking about Microsoft here, and they're the worst and most evil software company in the world. They and their software must be hated.
You're forgetting about the DirecTV DVRs, which run Tivo software but do not have (official) HMO support. There is no Tivo.com web scheduling for them, the only option is a built-in web server.
I'm curious as to what kind of locating data it gathers, and how it gathers it. Seeing as this is just a software package, I can't imagine it can go much farther than an IP address.
So, how exactly would you suggest making a mouse that works over WiFi? What you're essentially saying is "I don't want to take up a USB port for this mouse. Why don't they make a mouse that can plug into an Ethernet port?"
Bluetooth would be acceptable, but 802.11b/g is impossible.
Around here (Detroit area), Pizza Hut has always delivered before the estimated delivery time. Obviously with something like that, it just depends on the specific store.
*every* copy of Windows *still* BSOD's on a regular basis.
Really? *Every* copy? I guess I must not be using a copy of Windows then, because my computer hasn't had a BSOD in about 6 months. When it had a BSOD 6 months ago, that was due to a problem with the video card drivers. Prior to that, it had never BSOD'd before, and it hasn't BSOD's since.
But the fact remains, I am running Windows XP, and you are quite simply full of crap.
I guarantee that IE7's tabbing will be nothing like the MSN Search Bar implementation. Now I am pro-Microsoft, so keep that in mind when I say this: the tabbed browsing on the new MSN Search Bar sucks. I just tried it out, and it appears to be doing some crazy stuff with hiding and showing different windows, resizing them, etc. It's completely inelegant, and I would rather browse with no tabs (as I have been doing all along) than use this abomination.
Now, the reason I say that IE7's tabbing won't be like this is because the tabs will actually be built-in to the browser, not running as a separate toolbar. It will work much better than this.
Yeah, but does anyone do that? Does anyone *know* how to do that? Does anyone know it even *exists*? Is it turned on by default?
I have no idea. Obviously, yes. Obviously, yes. No.
It was said that.exe files are executable "no matter what you do," and I simply pointed out that there is something you can do to make them not executable. That's all.
I'd be willing to bet that XM has been an option for Ford and Chrysler as well...
Actually, Ford and Chrysler have partnered with Sirius. I don't know about Chrysler, but Ford doesn't push Sirius at all. You have to get a premium (Mach) radio for it to even be satellite-ready.
You use an iPod for DJing? That seems far from ideal. I use a laptop with DJ software on it, which works much better.
I show them the power of adblock and a decent set of preferences. This is something that IE will *never* have.
Really? I have no problem using Ad Muncher with IE. As an added bonus, it works with any browser on the system, not just one.
He, occasional. Yeah right. Occasional

Apple's Phil Schiller stated flatly that a Mac/Intel machine will be able to dual-boot into Windows.
He said no such thing. All he said is that Apple wouldn't try to stop Intel-based Macs from booting Windows.
Scholastic won't be very happy about this...
If you're putting questions of legality and morality aside, I really don't see how it would be incredibly difficult to obtain a free iBook...

Right, because Tivo doesn't already have that

The article fails to mention why Bill O'Reilly decided to build a MythTV box, and why I should care.
Oh wait, it was the other O'Reilly? Nevermind...
with Windows 2000 it is pretty straight forward but the functionality/setup in XP is pretty much hidden or not there.
Correction: The functionality in XP Home is not there. XP Pro has the same functionality as 2000, and then some.

corporate adoption of w2k and XP has gone on without even a slight hiccup.
Windows 2000 doesn't even have Product Activation, and neither does the Corporate (volume licensed) edition of Windows XP.

They need some way to be able to put your coupon (code) in the website, and give you the coupon deal.
Pizza Hut does that.
I hate to agree with everyone else here*, but Outlook is my one and only scheduling program.
*=not really. I'm glad to see so many people on here use Outlook.

Why doesn't ACNielsen keep stats like they do TV ratings?
I don't know...
Apple could use it to run Windows apps on top of OSX, thereby acquiring almost ALL of MS' market!
Do you honestly think that WINE on OS X is all it would take for "almost all" Windows users to switch over? Dream on...
Yeah, but does anyone do that? Does anyone *know* how to do that? Does anyone know it even *exists*? Is it turned on by default?

It was said that

Really? Because when I change the Read & Execute permission on the file to Deny, I sure as hell can't execute it.
No, they have a de-facto search engine monopoly.
Really? Because last I heard, they don't even have 50% of the search engine market. Not even close to a "de-facto monopoly" as you put it.
IE only starts faster because MS preloads it into memory at startup.
Bullshit. Just bullshit. Please provide some proof of this. When IE is not running, I certainly do not see IEXPLORE.EXE in my process list.
