Tiger Direct sucks. I mean, they really bite the big one. Totally. I made the mestake of ordering from them, and naturally (par for the course for them I later found out), they screwed it up. I call the support number and the guy on the line IS ACTUALLY DOING BONG HITS ON THE PHONE!!! I could hear it! I'm not making this up. He was so stoned that he kept forgetting what we were talking about! After giving up on him, I tried calling back for days and never got through. I sent tons of email to them and they never answered. My problem never got resolved. Whatever you do, avoid Tiger Direct like the plague!
This is true. I work a helpdesk and I LOVE it! I just do programming at home making stuff that I like for me and my friends. The work is easy, and the money is good for what it is.
I use KaZaA on its own machine firewalled from the rest of my network. When it gets too horked up, I just back up my downloaded files and re-format. It doesn't matter what happens to that machine. I dont use it for anything else.
I never even considered Russian SCI-Fi before. This sounds cool. I checked out The "Snail on the Slope" story and its great. For me the fascination is to just see how these Soviet authors think and percieve the future from their unique point of view.
This is so true.....
"duh...I was kinda thinkin' I should tear apart my VCR to figure out what's wrong with my laptop...their both machines...they both have moving parts...should work right?"
I don't like the idea of somone actually severing an animals optic nerves on purpose just to see if they can maybe fix it again, just to see if maybe the idea MIGHT work on a totally different species. To apply this line of thinking to any other area of science would be absurd.
Thats all I can say.....

Funny how you whine about what slahdot said, and then in the very next paragraph you agreed and said the very same thing. Oh you demagog you!
