well i hope this isn't too redundant, but i've got both games, and GTA (grand theft auto 3) is the REAL killer app. out for the PS2.
Gran Turismo looks tight, but, as someone else has said: it leavs me cold. It's boring since the computer offers no AI competition whatsoever; the other cars don't even react to you in the slightest.
Grand Theft Auto 3, though: wow. murder, drugs, and prostitution combine with (much more importantly), a vast, lifelike city environment (you just gotta experience it), interesting, numerous, and varied missions, and lastly, sweet music (even this is presented creatively: your car radio).
accidentally bombing a Red Cross installation once is pretty damn careless, considering the "smart", "sophisticated" military we are supposed to have. But twice?? How the fuck do you screw up that much?
We saw missiles with vid-cams flying through doors in the Gulf War, surely we can avoid blowing up Red Cross camps repeatedly.
One very justifiable conlclusion here that a person might make is that the reports of civilian getting killed by US bombs are not simply Taliban propaganda, but actually true.
We probably did blow up that hospital. And by the way, isn't this (a protracted, hap-hazard bombing campaign of questionable effectiveness ) exactly what the American people really didn't want going in to this thing?
.........Neuromancer was the uncanniest thing i've read. He coined 'cyberspace' in 1984 (or was it '86?) he invented (or at least, popularized the idea in sci-fi), the "matrix" WAY before Keanu Cheese starred in that overrated film, and his characters were ultra cool examples of the "wired" human with organic-machine interfaces (that razor-girl was cool). Even the narrative style, with the dense but ambiguous portayals of the gritty subcultures of vast metropolises seems futuristic.
The guy was a prophet. Who knows what strange visions from his novels have yet to materialize?
I agree, we need something that is entirely different from DSL. And while I usually side against Big Money (like Verizon), it seems sorta backwards that they must open their network to rivals before they can offer data services. It's their network right?
Plus, if one decides to get DSL through somebody that isn't the telco, they wait forever, and I'd bet the tech support isn't exactly top notch, how could it be? The telco has a vested interest to see to it that the 'rival' option sucks.
So we just have to put up with the fact that if you want DSL it is through your telco. If you want somebody else's broadband service, you gotta get cable, fiber, etc.
"In their study, published in the Oct. 4 issue of Nature, the researchers mapped a strain of plague that killed a veterinarian in the United States in 1992. He contracted the disease after an infected cat sneezed on him."
If you mess around with some bad pussy you get burned.
No way dude. Paypal is visible and has it's best account in EBay, but Checkfree, based in ATlanta, controls 80 percent of the online billing market. Almost all the major financial institutions use Checkfree's infrastructure. They simply prefer to remain behind the scenes, but if you are using your bank's online services, then I (almost) guarantee you that's Checkfree. No shit.
the thing about payPal is they charge 2 or 3 percent to use their services so what's the advantage over using your credit card? Same thing Course, I work there so I guess I'm biased, but this info is pretty much the truth.
heh, sorry but i felt obligated to post in this thread.........go Checkfree!;-)
"Hmmh, what does the currency exchange rate of Euro have to do with SuSE, esp. since they are not selling to US of A? If they did, it would be goog for them; same dollar price would get more euros etc., but...?"
unmm, because they are selling to Europeans so they get Euros. Then they see how many dollars that actually got them............if they just charge equivalent to their standard US prices or whatever then perhaps that just too expensive in Europe.
Several billion years from now, the Sun will become a giant star and its power output will increase five thousand fold.
And the press has blatantly ignored this issue and instead concentrates on scandal and violence!
I'm no scientist but this could have significant consequences on global warming.
if you are going to take an arrogant, know-it-all attitude, and make an insulting comment that does not address the finer points of copyright ethics, then LEARN HOW TO FUCKING SPELL, you miserable little sack of shit.
- the clueless h-o-r-d-e-s.
my friend you are truly paranoid. this "revelation" only serves to show what we already know: that we don't know jack shit about genes and their like. Afraid of a corporate takeover? C'mon man keep this shit real. WE dont know shit (as is the usual) so "that which does not kill us only makes us stronger"
well maybe AcidSpunk is cool, i don't know, but WhiteCap certainly kicks somes ass! And from what I've read was one of the original vis plug-ins. Way better name in any case. -mantis
which Dreamcast controller were you using??????
It's a cheap copy of the N64 controller. And your $100 Dreamcast will be junk in a year's time due to no new games and very hard to find old ones.
Sega showed it's lack of dedication and foresight with the Saturn, so why would anyone trust them to support the 'Cast? And lo and behold it died an early death before the battle was even joined.

yeah, you guys'll be fucking around with that crap while i'm busy honing my Linux skills on my playstation2 (in between games of Grand Theft Auto 3).
--but in both cases, hitting it with a bat is generally the best fix.

exactly what I was thinking...will my Chevron card work for this?

Hey, at least Hemos didn't try to add his little tidbit to the story to make it sound relevant.
