Reddit wants more celebrities. To achieve this, they need to allow celebrity agents to do AMAs on behalf of their clients. Victoria Taylor stood in the way of this.
Around 2003-2004 I subscribed to a Vancouver-area ISP named MDI Internet, and near the end of my term with them they implemented software called Adzila, which worked as described in the article. Here's an example of an ad it inserted on Google search results:
My first really 'nooo' accident was when installing a new mainboard. I had my case on it's side, with the new board mounted in place, and all the cables and drives in. I stopped for a moment to anwser the phone, and when I was done, I turned my chair back around, bumping my desk and sending a glass of root beer over, right on to my board and drives.
I cleaned everything as best I could, but I was never able to get the board to post (the drives miraculously survived). The store I bought it from replaced the board at no cost, no questions asked, and keeping the original warranty; I'm indebted to Crystal for that.
Proxomitron isn't an 'addon' to Internet Explorer. Rather, it can be integrated into any web-enabled program that supports an HTTP proxy server, by default localhost:8080. I'm currently using Proxomitron to filter HTML content in Opera 7.5, Thunderbird and GetRight.
For example, one replace I have running in Proxomitron changes links on thumbnail galleries so that the point to the full image, rather than a page framing the image. This works transparently in Opera, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Here is the replace I use for Google Image Search. The \1 represents the content being copied from the Matching expression to the Replacement expression.
Name = "Google Images - Direct Image Links" Active = TRUE Multi = TRUE URL = "*.google.*" Limit = 512 Match = "<a href=/imgres\?imgurl=\1\&*><img src=" Replace = "<a href="http://\1"><img src="
Belkin's Nostromo line of gaming devices includes two left-handed keyboard analogues that can be programmed on a per-app or global basis. I use my N50 primarily for games, but it's quite conceivable that it could be programmed to function as a one-handed keyboard, with a little practice.

If I were to sign up for a email service that forwards all mail received to a fax number/physical mailbox, and the domain name of this service makes that fairly obvious, would I have any civil grounds to sue if I receive junk email as a fax to that address? Or would the automated nature of junk mailings be a sufficient defense?
Media Player Classic can play back Flash 6/MX movies, and it gives you the standard video controls like the seek bar, pause/rewind/fastfw, and 200% zoom.
It occurs to me rather that Fermi's Paradox could be explained with the assumption that the least signifigant background details of the universe are simulated using the lowest amount of system time. Any intelligent life in the universe will not really exist until a signifigant presence makes them important enough to devote time to.

If you wish to keep your backups for an extended period, and still on a convenient format, you should look into a CD press/duplication machine. Primera Technology makes a number of popular machines designed for reliable cd duplication.

When are they going to make an episode of Junk Yard Wars using this concept as a base? Ideally it would culminate in something like that other geek robot game show, but there are certainly other venues that could be followed, like autonomous retrieval of items. Perhaps a bit difficult without some sort of headstart though.
I think the general consensus of the major news media is that this election is down to two candidates, Al Gore and 'Dubya' Bush, of the democrat and replublican parties, respectively. How long do you think it would take for the US electorate system to accept more than two parties as front-runners?
While I support the ideals of this company, namely, to create a user friendly, almost 'mac-like' interface for Linux, wouldn't it have been better to refine a pre-existing one?
I suppose though, I'm biased.

Why not put it in your code as well? (assuming you choose to release it.) Something along the liens of 'By reading this line you voluntarily give up all rights to support and warranty for this product'. However, this might be detrimental, if one takes the intent of making the source code public as encouraging others to develop it.

John Travolta has convinced me once and for all that dreadlocks do not look good on white people. This is relevant to me, because I was considering letting my hair grow long and, well... you get the idea.

maybe it's just me, but I don't think this judge believes Bill when he says that IE and Windows are unseperable. I wonder if that Windows 2001 beta will be rewritten?
Hmm... then again, there could be years of appeals before Microsoft is even close to being broken up. It could be 2005 before Microsoft is forced to take any action, and by that time I don't think it will really matter what OS your run.

Hardly 'obscure' is Mainframe Entertainment. They do Reboot, Beasties (Beast Wars), Shadow Raiders (War Planets), Weird Oh's, and my favorite, Beast Machines. They also have an Imax ride based on Reboot, and a PC game. All from a few floors in a downtown Vancouver office building.
Well, that's not entirely true. LiteStep offers more complexity, but it is up to the user how much they actually utilize. Go to one of the major theming sites and look at the 'minimalist' themes availiable. you can have a desktop as simple as a popup menu and a clock if that's what you need. And, since it is so scalable, you can use it to mimic pretty much any other UI out there.
I'd be very interested in seeing which member profiles are conspicuously absent from the leak.

Agurr. Silly Maur. That should have read like this, but Proxomitron
changed the "#3300CC" into the one in the matching expression below.
Name = "Games.Slashdot.org - Colour Fix"
Active = TRUE
Multi = TRUE
URL = "games.slashdot.org"
Limit = 64
Match = ""#3300CC""
Replace = ""#6078B0""
Proxomitron can be found at http://www.proxomitron.org/
I wrote this a while ago to solve that problem. Go get Proxomitron if you
don't have it, and add this to your default.cfg file, under [Patterns]
Name = "Games.Slashdot.org - Colour Fix"
Active = TRUE
Multi = TRUE
URL = "games.slashdot.org"
Limit = 64
Match = ""#6078B0""
Replace = ""#6078B0""
Of course, this requires you to be running Windows, seeing as
there isn't anything like Proxomitron for Linux/BSD (that I know of).
