Do not forget Apple loves to make new hardware incompatible with older hardware. My Mac Pro can not run newer video cards. My only thinking at the time, is that GPU's become too slow over the long term, CPU is just fine still. We'll they prevented me from using the new cards even though they'd run fine in Windows on the same hardware.

So I went out and built a more powerful machine than my Mac Pro, and I dont have to buy shiny new video cards, I just go SLI with a second one of the type I bought with the machine I built. Then upgrade to a new shiny card, when a single model blows my SLI pair out of the water.

I went with Linux, then Mac, then back to Windows 7. What I have learned, you can use anything and make it work, but Linux shines for servers, Apple is a trap to be avoided, and Windows has finally gotten their act together.

Unfortunately many companies are ill equipped to detect this type of error, internally they may see everything is fine, but it's external traffic that's being detected.

Desktop development of Linux has stagnated over the last 2 years. We have not seen anything but more fragmentation of the underlying building blocks and several high profile vendors have all said the same things. Adobe said the sound system sucks, Nvidia and ATI have complaints about X.Org windowing systems and in general while I love what Ubuntu has done, it "Appears" that they've dominated the direction desktop Linux is taking lately. I used to be impressed with every new build and the features it has brought, the last few releases bring nothing but yawns and maybe a new skin or some flashy effects, but nobody is addressing the more pressing issues of standards for underlying systems. I understand people want something customizable, but in the end you have to have standards so people who make you all these fun custom things can know what to expect when building them.

I'm sure monsanto knows very well before they even offered it for sale, that their gene would get transferred in this way. If people want to do gene patents on farm crop, they should also splice in a gene that requires the plant to be fed some chemical so that it dies if it does not get it. But with the iPhone you can sell that game to each family member (assuming they are the "dumb, rich" market segment and are both rich and foolish enough to get their kids iPhones). But some developers would be looking at the $$$ from selling a game to the same family more than once.

You're dumb enough to not know that if they're all on the same iTunes account, one person buys it, it can be ran on all the iphones.
