    I managed 95 -> 98 -> ME -> XP -> Vista -> 7 without any serious problems.

    Posting anonymously so I don't lose my Linux cred...

    I'm a Linux guy (since '93), and I liked ME. It seemed far more predictable than other versions I used. It's also the last version I bothered with.

    That's a trillion bucks there at today's prices. I'm not Jewish, but the chutzpah displayed by HBGary's Barr, is astonishing. He doesn't even know basic password stuff, and he's selling advanced crypto-skills to the USA? Chutzpah!

    Of course I knew this a couple of years back when I had a local SMB buy into magical thinking with "If we replace Windows with OSX we'll never have to worry about security again!" and promptly got pwned when his teenager trying to get free porn installed the DNS Changer bug. It turned out the classic "Want to see teh boobies? Instal our free "Iz_Not-a-Bug codec" social engineering crosses OS boundaries quite well.

    It's accurate in that you don't want this particular Trojan to open and release all of your little Greeks into your partner's Troy.

    But that's what it (the horse) was designed to do. I agree, it's a weird application of the name Trojan. They should have used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maginot_Line - much more sexy. French even.

    Zimbabwe is even worse as the military has sided with Mugabe and have all the guns.

    Yabut, the military of any country cares less for their politicos than we do, on average. Write a new constitution, then let's get on with it! Hand back power from military ("Keep me out of it!"), then carry on.

    Tunisia and Cairo stood up to their military, and their militaries refused to fight their own people. Take heart!

  19. Spend money on public projects, hire millions of workers, then start a war for resources so you can balance your failing budget and put the workers that have nothing better to do now into the military.

    WWII: Ten million innocent civillian bystanders later, hundreds of thousands of Allied and Axis casualties later, hundreds of thousands doomed to slow deaths by radiation poisoning, ... Followed by a few decades (Cold War) of deadly indecision, ...

    Methinks you underestimate the cost of the enterprise.

    Nobody wins in war. One side loses less than the other, but that's all, and that's the best that can happen.

    Obvious: I strongly suggest you re-read Shirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". "To Kill a Mockingbird" is good too.
