In the development, roll-out, and implementation processes, Microsoft worked closely with the London Stock Exchange to ensure not only that they understood their immediate requirements, but that the solution fitted their long-term business plans as specified in the TRM project.
Microsoft was equally involved in this project no matter how you try to spin it.
Could you elaborate on this massive privacy problem you talk about? Like you don't have this massive privacy problem by using your ISP's DNS servers who can actually match DNS queries to user account?
And who asked if OpenDNS is about "Everyday internet user" crowd? It's A DNS service! Do you want a CSI type frontend with it?
Vista came out around jan. 2007. Windows 7 will be here sometime 2009. I don't think MS can get away with pushing a new OS every 2 years.
Besides, isn't Windows 2K supported till 2010? People who spent good money on MS software want their patches, pronto.
If you're migrating to Vista, might as well go over to OSX or even linux. A lot of inhouse apps are not compatible with anything above XP. Which means splash money to fix all your inhouse apps. and then splash more money to upgrade to Vista. Oh, and then splash more money to upgrade hardware too.
Your position of defending Microsoft at every turn and opportunity is actually quite silly and paranoid, even childish. Microsoft has clearly done this time and time again. X feature works on all platform except it works better on latest MS platform.
For a long time now, there are websites that work only correctly on IE or you couldn't even access a site without using IE.
Besides your meek attempt of a straw man setup and whining, why don't you use Opera, Chrome or Firefox instead? Webmasters have no obligations to cater to a particular browser.
I have many RH systems with support contracts around our datacenter running voip gateways, SS7, databases etc. Why? because all that 3rd party applications are certified to run only on RedHat with support contracts. That's the main reason companies get support contract which also includes official updates and patches.
Since the cost of 3rd party apps. runs into tens of thousands, cost of RH support is negligible. Besides, you can't beat the warm and fuzzy feeling you get supporting the cause;)
I have a http://bethere.co.uk/ BE adsl which gets you upto 24mb/1024 down/up, depending on distance from the exchange and line quality. I'm around a mile away from the exchange and get ~15mb.
Between the 3 of us in the house, we use around 150~200Gb a month for the past 5-6 months without any complaints from BE.
Japanese mobile tech is at least 3 years ahead of everyone else. Vodafone just didn't get it.
I had a beautiful clamshell 3G set light as a feather with media player, camera and imode 3-4 years ago. Snapping a picture of myself eating udon and mailing it to friends and family back then got me alot of ooos and ahhs:)
Vodafone coming to market with the most ugly brick phones ever, the likes which we've never seen before in Japan, didn't help.
Then there was them spending time and money on the pre-paid market. Basically, there is no pre-paid market there and there's a reason for that, nobody wants one. They came in thinking small, gunning for the niche market.
Then there was the reputation of the network. Vodaphone bought out an old network, can't remember the name, but it was on the brink of going bust because the quality sucked major. People knew Vodaphone as the one that bought out the sucky network.
I'm sure he means Intel hardware and MS software technologies.
You can export almost everything from Google services
That's assuming all company mail is routed within the company's network or over vpn.

And if you come within 2.4 meters of the device, your cell is supposed to register with it automagically.
If the carriers let this fly, nano cells in licensed band are next and they'll never let this happen.
You're joking, right?
Hit Google, you'll get things like this
Looks like Windows IIS + MSSQL again.
From Microsoft's case study http://www.microsoft.com/casestudies/Case_Study_Detail.aspx?CaseStudyID=200042

There can be no peace with people that don't even recognise Israel's right to exist.
Memory protection was available since XPsp2. UAC, isn't that the first 'feature' people disable when using Vista?
Funny how most comments end up like your's?
If only everyone was using Vista.
Well, if only everyone stopped using IE!
To all you people pushing Vista at every turn, knock it off. It ain't gonna happen.

That's why people hate Vista.

I guess the tables have indeed turned.
MS is "breaking" that promise only for intranet pages and, honestly, intranet pages are a very different.
And IE8 differentiates between intranet and extranet how?
You've been quoting Confucius the past 3000 something posts, is this some kind of study you're conducting?

We had a couple of Pixs which I upgraded from maximum 10 connections to unlimited, and never did it cost me more than £200 to £300.
Mostly 506e and 501 though.

They've been good to us, give them a try.
But parent is right. Microsoft did get a controlling stake at Corel and shut its Linux division down.
The funny thing is Microsoft threatened to sue Corel for using a spellcheck in its office suite claiming they have a patent on it.
So tell me again Microsoft never used its patents to sue a competitor.

You're obviously trolling.
For one, Google doesn't compete against firefox, Microsoft does. That alone justifies every conspiracy loony response.
Second, lets not forget that Microsoft was convicted for illegally maintaining its monopoly.
Third, Microsoft has a track record for playing dirty, being untrustworthy and valuing unethical behavior.
10.# The name 'Google' was an accident. A spelling mistake made by the original founders who thought they were going for 'Googol'
Wow that was close. Some more typo and we'd all be kogaling instead.
Part of my job is to look after the system thats running MSSQL server with stock inventory and billing with the secretary using it to surf the net.
I have a sad job.
I don't own the thing.
Realise that its the only Windows system I have to look after and the fact that I can't remove IE.
If it was up to me i'd throw it out the window. Serious.
