    Whilst in some controversial areas this may be true, in the corners of Wikipedia that are of interest to specialists in proper subjects (i.e. not media studies ;) we see some very good work. Don't discourage right use because of some abuse.

    Most of Wikipedia is fine, but the main management and many of the in-house editors are unquestionably a group of power-mad weenies who are trying to fertilize their own egos with the tiny bit of authority they have.

    What I have works well for me and I see no reason to suck Microsoft's dick any harder than I already am. Sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities. You're welcome to deep-throat Steve Ballmer if you want to, I don't care.

    But you'll just have to excuse me for not doing what you think is right for everyone else in the universe. And by "have to", that's exactly what I mean, you ignorant fucktard.

    Exactly...if we spent all of our time trying to comply with every Federal regulation and law, we'd never have time to set foot outside our own homes.

    This is just another batch of far-reaching laws that will be totally ignored...until they need to screw over someone in particular that they can't get by any other means. Then suddenly, "Oh look, you've violated Firmware Integrity Law #25342.11z, that'll be $10,000 and 5 years in jail."

    It ain't broke, don't fix it. I've worked with Win7 for a bit, and have to admit it works, and allows you to get what you want to do, done.

    Exactly.

    What I've got (Win 7) is working and working well for what I need to do on a daily basis. Win 7 is actually a fairly decent desktop environment (again, for me, your mileage may vary). Honestly, I'd run it for the next decade if I could but my guess is that drivers for any new gear will be unavailable for Win 7 and that will force me to switch.

    To be frank, I'm not eager to switch to Linux. I use it on all my servers to run my websites (about 120 sites) but I've got almost no experience with Linux on the desktop as an everyday OS.

    I know there's going to be a learning curve and I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll go that route to avoid Windows 10. That's how much I dislike Windows 10. (And for what it's worth, Linux has been a rock-solid performer on all of my servers for the last 10 years.)

    I don't give a damn if it grabbed 50% of whatever bullshit metric they claim to be measuring. Win 7 works for me and I'll probably use it until I'm literally forced to upgrade (i.e. lack of drivers, etc).

    And then I'll switch to Linux.

    This has already been done by numerous places. One that I've found especially good for stopping bots from using signup forms is http://botscout.com./ The free daily limits are a little low but for us they're very, very effective. Using them dropped our bogus signups from 200/day to about 1 or 2 per day, sometimes zero.

    If I read this right, it appears that his theft was the impetus for Ulbricht trying to hire a hit to kill someone.

    I'm not sure if there's some follow-on charge that could be applied there, but it almost seems like there should be because if Bridges hadn't stolen the bitcoin, Ulbricht wouldn't have wanted to kill someone for the theft.

    rather than offer a reliable download and buffer model, so this might be good news in the long run. I live in Seattle, and I don't know anyone with a connection fast enough to stream Netflix.

    I live north of Seattle about ~10 miles and we can stream Netflix without any problem. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever had an issue with streaming it. We're using Frontier, so that may be a factor. Their speed and reliability/uptime have been pretty good so far.

    (We just got power back after 3 days, so watching Netflix isn't high on my list of things to do right now.)
