  1. Re:Wrong place. on Video Projector for Home Theater? · · Score: 1

I have the X1 at my home and I absolutely love it. It really is a great projector for the price. If you are looking to keep your projector under 1.5k or so, definitely consider the X1. Some people do notice rambows. Luckily, I am not one of those people so I fully enjoy it.

From what I can tell, Mr. Hiibel instigated the confrontation. He could have easily complied but chose not to. Also, I have some experience in this field being a Police Officer. First off, a police officer has the right to ask you basic pedigree information, such as name, address, and reason for being somewhere. It is called common law of inquiry. No probable cause is necessary. However, the person has the right to refuse to answer these questions. At this point however, if the officer has reasonable suspicion that a crime has, is, or is about to occur, he may detain the person in order to investigate. The officer is also under no obligation to explain what he is investigating as that may put him at risk. (Think telling a murderer that you are investigating him killing someone) If you have reasonable suspicion, and the person does not produce ID, they may be detained until they are identified. Also, in NY, where I am a PO, it is not a crime not to have ID, but if I stop you for a crime or violation and you fail to give me your id when I ask and have it on you at the time, it is a violation offense. It is a class A misdemeanor also to intentionally lie to a PO about your name, address, date of birth, etc.

My personal opinion is that Mr. Hiibel intentionally caused a confrontation with the police officer which could have been avoided if he had simply complied.

True, the civilian M16 is allowed. It is called the AR-15. It also costs about 1K. You can own a semi-auto AK-47 also. Several of my co-workers own one, or more, in fact. It is easy to convert them to fully automatic, but that would make the gun illegal.

I know that in New York, high cap magazines that were made before July 1994 can be bought and sold like any other magazine. Ones made after that are marked Law Enforcement/Govt. only.

I would have to say that my orginal Nintendo controllers has out lasted my expectations. 16 years old and I still have my orginal ones. Not like those horrible N64 controllers. I have to buy a new one of those every few months.

Bandwidth is definitely the problem. When I worked for the University at Albany, they installed a Packet shaper. The change was amazing. Without it, both inbound and outbound transfers were at 99% almost all the time. This is pretty astounding since we had an OC3 connection. With the packeteer, both dropped to around 45% average. The biggest problem is because people don't disable sharing. Normal workstation computers should never have a higher upload than download, but with these programs, our uploads were drastically higher.

That same message is posted on blizzard's website. Blizzard did not have a problem with BnetD until it cracked the Warcraft 3 Beta Test. Once it did that, I think they just drew the line.
