After a few articles showing companies demanding access to your social media or requiring you to link them your accounts for them to snoop. I deleted all of mine when I began job hunting in the I.T field. I didn't want a beer drinking picture with strippers to cost me a potential job.

  4. With slamming Nexus 5, I received all updates on my current Nexus 5,7, 5x. So I'm not sure where he's gathering his information. The one who DOESN'T update is Samsung. My work Rugby LTE still sitting on original 4.4.1. Even after their promises to update when StageFrieght came out. Nada.

You paid for your phone? Vast majority of people upgrade for free to the newest/latest phone. I just went through this experience. Every store instantly push Apple/Samsung. 1st was always Apple, when I said I'm not a hipster, they turned to Samsung. I also declined Samsung because of my previous experience with their products. Every Samsung phone dies at the 14th month mark for me. S2 went through 4mobos in the year warranty. Rugby LTE same thing. S3 same thing. When I asked for other models of phones they just kinda went "o well have some other brands here, not big sellers". I was surprised how little stock they had with Nexus. Which has been fantastic for me. I went to every store in the mall (there was a dozen), mostly to see if any of them throw in perks for buying. Like BestBuy gives you $100 in store credit. Not the greatest perk since they sell $1 cases (seen on eBay) for $30 bucks.

  6. It takes me about the same amount of time to fill my VW Golf TDI and I can do about 1000 km. Oooor I could do the economic thing and install the conversion kit to it and run it off used cooking oil. About 3 cents a litre. Much better plan than electricity since the Hydro company prices have tripled in the last couple years.

  7. LinkedIn has gotten away from what it was meant for. Now it's just someone posting "mind puzzles" or links to "do it your way" posts. Or Recruiters who get your info, with no jobs available and show how big their stable is to potential companies. Job hunted on there for a year, used their premium. Not even a phone call.

Welfare already does that in Canada. Only issue is when rental cost is more than the govt gives you. Example as single person they give you $610. To rent just a room $600-650 (thanx to influx of students). So you get a room but no food.

Luckily it was only a VM on my Debian machine. Reinstalled 7 and said F 10. Although, it's been good $ of people willing to pay to reinstall 7 instead of 10.

Just because they're being taught on these devices, doesn't mean they're willing to learn new technology. The willingness to learn something new is difficult. Smug on their iPad yes, told to work on a govt XP Machine...lost.
