A search engine that still searches the internet?

This one especially. It is tragic on googles part that I get much better results out of both duckduck and gigablast for 80-90% of my searches. They used to be the king of digging deep into the web before they decided to start censoring their results into obscurity. Honestly, I highly support gigablast taking the lead if they can get their spidering more active. Their list of search operators is pretty impressively long and powerful.

You are thinking about this incorrectly.

That $15 ticket price pays for a lot of things you are paying separately for in your own house.

For $15 at the theater, you are paying for the short use of the facility and the utilities it uses, people to manage the content you intend to watch, people to clean up any mess you or your friends or children make, a very large screen, and hopefully a well tuned surround sound system, all adding to a much better experience than you simply get at home. Thats not to say that ticket prices aren't inflated a great deal, but they pay for more than the movie you are watching.

Now you get to supply the tv (and shutter glasses if you're intending to watch 3D content), the sound system, the internet connection, the other utilities, the cleanup and other necessary maintenance while paying $50 per movie. Its not really entirely a great deal unless you intend to have a lot of people watch every movie you rent. If you have a large family, it makes sense. For most people, this is gonna be a miss for them.

Except you don't get the 3d in your house unless you bought an expensive tv and expensive shutter glasses beforehand and you don't get the popcorn unless you bought it separately at the store, along with the soda and candy and whatever else your fatass desires that night.

Lets say a ticket goes for $12/person which is somewhat high in my experience. You have to have 5 people watching the movie to get any value out of this service. Many theaters are less than that, around $8-9/ticket - now you have to bring over more than 6 people to get the value. I'm sure some people find comfort and possibly value in the possibility of sitting in their underwear while lounging and watching the latest movies and maybe to them this is worth $50. I find it hard to believe that the average person would agree with that though. Also, it might be awkward to be in a room with your friends or family of 5 others, while just in your underwear.

The people who will use this service are those who are A) disabled and not able to travel to the movies; B) living in a house with a family of 4 or more; or C) stupid with their money.

  5. Not so sure this means "healthier economy". on Boeing and Airbus Can't Make Enough Airplanes To Keep Up With Demand (axios.com) · · Score: 1

I may be incorrect but I was thinking that most planes were issued basically on credit to these airlines, just like when you buy a new car.

These airlines purchased these airplanes years in advance with people trying to guess what travel expectancy will be at the time they receive the plane. Lets say one of these airlines misjudged and they have to renege on their purchase of a plane or two as their passenger pool has not gained as their model suggested. No problem, Boeing/Airbus can just refit the interior to meet the preference of another airline.

Now lets suppose several of these airlines have to renege due to various factors - rising fuel costs, nearby conflicts chasing away travelers, etc. This could be a very precarious position for Boeing and Airbus if they have a surplus of planes.

Honestly, running with a 30% header in demand seems wise when considering the length of time it takes for these planes to be brought out for first flight. Not to say this necessarily means the economy is doing poorly, but I don't feel like this is at all any indication of a booming economy.

  6. Sure it was an NSA initiative. That doesn't mean Google wasn't just posturing when they "went out of their way to encrypt traffic". Encrypting doesn't really do anything if you are already complying with the NSA with other tools. Lets consider an alternative - Google began encrypting their intranet traffic because they became concerned hackers could reveal this compliance easily prior to the encryption.

Doesn't really matter much how they implement it if its included already with the browser. Its just like throwing sand in the face of FF addon devs, when they've already had a beach worth thrown in their faces. My point was, why not better support the community that already exists by including or suggesting addon installs when you install or update FF instead of taking it upon themselves to do it themselves. There are so many bigger issues with FF that should be addressed, especially when numerous other addons have already provided this functionality if people were interested in having it.
