  1. I have no issue with fission power if appropriate safeguards are on there - e.g. unlike Fukushima if your power station is on the coast do NOT put the backup generators in a basement, put them in the containment building.

You meant the public water system in Flint? I'd say public is also the same as oligarchization, unfortunately.

  3. No, I say that people in government are unable to do it. Whether or not they are human is up for debate.

  4. No. What I'm saying is the tobacco taxes - or rather, the tobacco settlement that was in the hundreds of billions - was supposed to go to treating smoking related diseases, smoking cessession programs, etc. And none of it did - it went to golf courses, playgrounds, and other 'slush' things. Any implementation of a carbon tax will do that too - and income and sales and excise taxes will not go down.

  10. All of these things ARE true. Unfortunately, given the amount of self and USA hating that the left shows every time they open their mouths, you might realize why the Right is so skeptical of anything the Left says. I'm a right winger AND an engineer. I want sustainable power because, duh, it is sustainable. I'm also an avoid outdoorsman and I like unspoiled nature. But what does the left want to do with the outdoors? Why, keep people (except the uber wealthy) off of it. So voting dumbocrat doesn't help me, either.

  11. Which of course, will not happen. Look at the tobacco money - almost NONE of it was used for healthcare etc. In fact, maybe none of it was.

What ? Yes, if Britain hadn't stood up through the Battle of Britain, it is true, the job would have been harder - but without the resources and people of the US, WWII would have ended very, very differently. The USSR troops drove to Berlin in vehicles from Detroit. What's truly amazing is that Britain was able to hold out by herself as long as she did, but of course, the Empire provided A LOT of resources. As for the USSR, it imploded trying to keep up with US military spending. Would it have done so anyway? Or become a water empire?

The news media says the same thing about every Republican President - which is no surprise, since they're so left wing it makes Stalin look like a right winger. Long before the current train crash - like during the Klinton train crash - I realized that almost nothing coming out of so-called 'news' was true. . It is a tragedy but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it.

  21. In general, governments are NOT good conservors of resources - other than designating national parks. Simply giving a government more money through taxes is like giving a heroin addict more drugs and telling him to reform.
