    Religion indoctrinates people into accepting things without proof, to forego critical thinking for statements from "authority".
    The new testament is just fine with saying women are not equal to men, and it justifies such claims with an imaginary force.

    I don't agree with your decision to vote for Romney, but I must commend you on being the first person I've seen to say they are doing so in a reasonable tone while presenting your own thought out explanation for such.

    It beats the "take America back!" "out with the Muslim" "stop Commie america!" "Obama kills unborn babies!" crap that dominates the right wing side of the intertubes.

    A few years ago I was trying to find a gameboy advance cartridge that was fairly uncommon.
    Sam Goody's carried it for 16 dollars, so I ordered it immediately. They charged me 17 dollars and change for "shipping and handling".
    When the package arrived it was the size of a deck of cards and had $1.60 in postage on it, sent via regular post - not even first class.
    Talk about thieves.

    That would indicate that the posters are too lazy to check to see if someone else had already posted it.

    No kidding. When I've been a smoker or non-smoker I've been able to smell that cheap Axe crap and perfumes from 200 feet easily if I'm downwind. But I have a good nose, and a sensitivity to it. Might as well spray it directly into my eyes and nose. It makes me sick.

    I only read some of the reports in the initial couple of weeks of the sex charges being waved about, so someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the issue not about "rape" but rather that of informed consent? He was having sex with two different women and failed to inform them of either of it, which is apparently treated more seriously there than it would be in North America.
    And that was why one of his accusers was reported to be saying they were pressuring her to make serious allegations against him when she had just made the initial complaint while she was still pissed off.
    Being a dick and being a rapist are two completely separate issues.

    Let's see... 50 dollars a month which I can afford. Or several thousand dollars all at once which I can not afford.
    There is no better legitimate deal for a hobbyist learning all the tools. And I don't download warez.

    The media and a large percentage of the population treat *everything* with a degree of 'mysticism'. Anything that can't be understood in a sentence becomes ghosts, psychic phenomena, "god's hand", etc. etc.
    Trained careers like medicine, law, and science become overly dramatic and so highly fictionalized in entertainment that the people who relate to the statement above assume that crimes really are solved in an 8 hour shift, deathly illnesses can always be cured with a single injection in the way we might treat something with epinephrine, and that all physics can be described in a few phrases by Deepak Chopra.
    And there's a high level of resistance to combating that 'mysticism'.
    Even recently I encountered someone who said that psychics/mediums are frauds... except HER medium...
    Sigh.
