As a 38 year old geek, who was in the Army for 3 years, let me say that that is a bad idea. OK, some people my age can get into shape to run 6 miles at a 7 minute mile pace, or carry a 70 lb combat load 10 miles cross country and fight a battle at the end of it, without slowing down the other people in the platoon. But not many. As the body ages, even if you've taken care of it, it becomes somewhat less robust than it was when you were a teenager.
And one thing Iraq and 9/11 have shown is that there are NO "safe rear area jobs".
Huh? What was wrong with it? I used WP5.1 for years, and the function keys worked just as the manual said. It was easy to learn them, and using function keys rather than the mouse speeds up typing considerably.
On the outgoing server? The relay? The receiving server? The receiving client? Also, what are you checking? If you're using SAX, you can get one or two tags and parse them in that partial ms. What's going to take time is verifying the data, which may require talking to a remote server.
Say, greater than 1 megabyte. I've been working with XML for a few years now and even DOM can handle simple messages in fractions of a second. How complex can this be? A tag defining a 'to' e-mail address, another for the 'from', a third for the relays. One for the signing authority. Tags for the subject, body, and attachments. No more than 10 tags, probably.
But it's not. It's a patch of trees in the park next door. In summer, when they're all leafed out, the signal is degraded enough that it isn't worth trying.
You mean "Attack of the Flaming Ewoks" don't you. If they had done it, as originally intended, with wookies it would've rocked. As it was, it wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen. But then, I've seen Ishtar.
"Standing on a street corner hoping for day laborer work knowing that half the time you are going to get stiffed for pay." Because I was "Sitting on your butt at home because you've been out of work for 9 months."
Really, really, bad. The production values were good. But, well, the book is probably non-filmable.
when you post as AC, and it gets modded up?
Great Falls VA, on Springvale Rd. Has a historic marker across the street. It's been turned into a county park.

Oh yeah, that's gonna hurt. That's right up there with you or me getting a speeeding ticket for doing 27 in a 25 zone.
They didn't after Challenger exploded in 1986.
Horses can create more horses, by themselves, through relatively unskilled labor. Cars haven't mastered this yet.
Horses are fueled by renewable resources which are commonly available at little or no cost.
