It's hard to write notes on the margins of an e-book. Hard to read one of those while eating, since I don't eat at my computer.
What kind? Zope, and other web application servers are an area of interest. Hmmm, sorry, can't think of any other interests that aren't met by the Books With The Animals On The Covers. Heck, I've got 5 of those within arms reach right now.
Back in '83 I was standing outside a computer room when there was a head crash in a 12", IIRC, drive. Everybody hit the deck. Sounded like a bomb going off.
Perhaps they prefer being a big fish in a small pond? Let others sell handheld computers that do everything, none of it well, while Palm sticks with doing PDA's that do a few things very well.
That the corp sueing him apparently didn't go through the ICANN name dispute resolution system? Interesting that they realize that ICANN has no real power in those sorts of disputes. Not that it's any surprise See this story from a year ago for another example of using the courts to avoid/overrule ICANN.
There've been a few slashdot stories about Tivo's data collection. This is where I heard about it. Jamie has a couple links in his comment.

Lets see. 464 sq mm is 21.5 mm on a side, or 2.15 cm on a side. Just under one inch for us US types. I'm pretty sure the recent Pentium IV's are larger than that.
Given the delays we already have, for anyplace that's within 8 hours drive time it's no slower to drive. Actually, since I usually dedicate an entire day to any flight, for anyplace that's within 20 hours drive time it's reasonable to drive. So, living here in Virginia, It'd only be more convienent to fly if I was going west of the Mississippi River.
Unfortunately, most of my long distance trips are visits to family in Utah. That's about 36 hours driving time, not including stops for such luxuries as sleep. Damn.
The slash engine was designed? I thought it just sort of grew. Like a fungus.
A'course, I haven't actually looked at it in a few years. The first release was traumatic.
Some of us use slashdot as a central news source. Why go around to a zillion other places, when we can just catch the announce here? Saves time.
Not Virginia. Vermont is the home of damnyankees while Virginia is the home of True Southern Gentlemen.
if there are nay job openings up there for me...
On PBS
Embedded programming isn't that hard, if you can keep the programs and data small. The Palm Pilot is an embedded system.
Note that embedded!=real time.
O'Reilly books are so loved. They're concise. Although the Python Libraries book is a monster. May be their thickest ever.

*ducks*
It's not good. It is, however, loud. Great at parties, especially if people there are armed and start shooting back.

That's like the people at k5 complaining "This was on The Other Site". All of us don't read arstechnica.
and buy the book.
He never claimed to have done so...
And we're gonna paint 'em black, too! Muahahahaha!
It's not black? How can it not be black?

I'm still using a Palm II, or Personal, or whatever they called it. I think it's still running OS 1. It's Good Enough, so why upgrade?
I was wondering if this was like the eReferee case, where the corporation lost in UDRP, and then won in court.
You might want to write up an article about the case for this place or k5.

Or did you mean 464 mm square?

In Reston, Va, and I haven't had any trouble yet. Two or three outages in the past year, neither of which lasted long, and good tech support.
