  3. Why cannot one use "SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the US)" then use SCOTUS all you want after that. To many acronyms are being thrown out.

    When my wife watches a movie the sound track is very important her. She will ask me after the movie how I liked it and my response is "was there music?" I am also in the 1-3% group and people think something is wrong with me...

    And because I am an old fart, I can increase the font size on ebooks so I do not need to use glasses. Can not do that with a regular book. And as I get older the print seems to be getting smaller.

    When I was in grad school (many years ago) our research group needed to learn programming for our thesis work (we were biologists). We went to the computer science department and asked the chairman of the department what would be the best computer class to really learn programming. He told us to take assembler. We did, and her was right. Once you know that the rest was easy...

    Well, I for one use neather. Without going into details, I could not get PS to do what I needed no matter how hard I tired (a co-worker who uses PS had no problems). I was able to easly do it in GIMP. So I for one feel that GIMP is mor intuitive...

    No, Windows NT is based on the Mach Kernel from Carnegie Mellon University... The same kernel which is/was on the DEC Unix kernel.

    OK, here is my cospriacy theory for today.
    Lets see, after 9/11 we (the US Govt) is trying to find a way to "monitor" all "terrorist" computers. They have their magic lantern program or what ever which will monitor everything on your computer (every keystroke). Wouldn't it be nice if we could make it a part of the O/S of almost all computers (90+%). If we could only get some big O/S company with a big market share and, of course, closed source so you cannot see the code. Do we have any leverage with any company like this? I wonder why the Justice Department is backing off of MS???

    Duh.. WinNT runs on the alpha in 32 bit mode. DEC UNIX runs (and has for years) in 64 bit mode...
