    Wait, if a corporation brings millions or billions it earned outside the US, in some other country under some other laws, back into the US, most of which it invests,the government just seizes some?

    God I love safety trials. I've long maintained these delays cost more lives than drugs getting to market too soon do.

    One or two years' delay in a major cancer or heart disease drug, boom. Millions of lives.

    Vs. what, a few hundred here or there? Those millions nobody sees, but the hundred (or dozens or one or two) are fodder for cameras and grandstanding politicians.

    It was AIDS protests in thr US that spurned the "fast track", shortening this from the normal 10 years.

    10 years, x how many millions a year? Better, but still murderous. We haven't grown up yet.

    I've bought two Dells since my Pentium Pro, not counting my old Alienware, before Dell bought them.

    My most recent two were cheap mid-high range from Best Buy or similar, rather than mail order. Dells on display were now the premium ones, for identical features.

    So...screw 'em. Dell has lost its way.

    It's also easy to grandstand and yell it should have all been gamewide, and since day 1...when it's not your hundred million dollar investment. All it takes is one big group to make a fuss and suddenly you're pushing the Gay Agenda(tm) on the children -- think of the children!

    Losing 10% or more of potential sales, well...be glad they're floating this trial balloon.

    Not sure about the long-term prospects of stapling, but of the 3 people I know who have had it, all 3 have gained weight back. The stomach stretches back out or something.

    And you have "governmental" interference in MMO economies, too. Namely:

    - Artificial price supports by vendors offering to buy things, giving a floor to the minimum auction house price.

    - Artificial restriction by bind-on-pickup or equip, causing artificial scarcity to...prevent the capitalist market from finding the natural price, which would be significantly lower.

    - How hard would you grind if 30-50% of your stuff was taken and distributed to others who didn't grind?
