Speaking of 3D, does anybody have a C++ project on Windows that shows how to use OpenGL? I can find tons, but they all open output files of 3D animation programs, which is useless to me. I need to pass it programmatically-generated 3D objects (points, lines, vertices, triangles, don't care, as long as it's simple to whip these up from point/line/triangle pseudocode.)
"Chatroulette, the strangely addictive online game in which users are connected via webcam and microphone to random strangers at the click of a button, has had enough of users exposing themselves to the unsuspecting public"
WTF! Why did nobody tell me this thing existed!!?!?!? >:-(

Really! If God wants you dead, He'll snap a spar or something while you're up in the air, praise be His kind and holy name, and praise to His kindness as our Father.
I wonder, did anyone actually graph inventions through the Greek/Roman era, through the "Dark Ages", to Renaissance, to now? Was there a dip in the rate of inventions in the "Dark Ages"? Per capita, from Europe (as opposed to Persia or China or somewhere.)
I was unaware US courts could do anything regarding liability for things done elsewhere that are not illegal in the US. Especially things that cannot be made illegal in the US.
Do treaties override Constitutional protections? I thought they could not.
If the blog hoster refused to take down someone else's blog not just supporting but aiding actual terrorist activity, the US would be correct in bringing that guy under suspicion as well.
Also, freedom of speech does not apply to actual military instructions to the other side.
IIRC, Earth does have a real ring (not of space junk), detected some years ago. It's just incredibly thin and thus hard to detect, even with the "behind" method.
We would need to make sure we were not adding objects with an average pseudo-temperature (momentum/speed of the chunks) that was not greater than the cumulative sum of drag by wisps of atmosphere.
Of course, the average number of collisions would probably be minuscule, for now, due to the vast volume, and thus would be drowned in the much greater drag of atmosphere when mapped over time.
When I lived in the NL for a while, some of the other-language channels showed some bomb blast victims, military, with these bald spots with hair radiating away like the Tunguska blast.
I noted the US never did, and still doesn't, show stuff like that on the "public airwaves".
My fav was the guy who bit a blasting cap and was sitting around in the emergency room on video, his whole nose/mouth/throat turned into a big hole with flower petals of flesh around it.
Well, whether I want to lend my algorithmic genius to this or not depends.
Lemme ask you, do you plan on keeping discoveries secret, reporting them to the White House first, until such time as the President can decide what to do?
It's interesting how government upholds private contracts when it wants to, and violates them when it wants to, as in the bankruptcies of GM and Chrysler, which involved overturning longstanding, traditional contracts with lenders to give certain lenders a larger share of the cut-up pie upon dissolution.

Inquiring minds want to know!
Here's the only criteria that matters for his medical condition: Can he still still sit in front of a computer and hack?
If so, send him over.
I'll take that bet, too, if you consider 5-10 years as "soon". In the context of astronomical discoveries, that's a fairly decent description.
And ZOMG, I got FP for the first time in my Slashdot career!

Leave Yahweh alone!!!
"Owing to the rarity of these monsters, I think it is unlikely that this new record will be broken any time soon.""
Owing to the size of the universe, I think it is likely that this new record will be broken sometime soon.
Two theories, now let's sit back and see who's right!
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
If defenders could figure out the code, well, I believe this vignette from Star Trek: Next Gen will help:
Data: I have access to the Borg collective
Picarborg: Sleep. Sleep, Data.
Dr. Crusher: He must be exhausted.
Data: Most certainly. But I think he may be telling us something.

I has a sad :(
Warning! For my fellow Americans, who have not yet seen the season finale, don't read the last paragraph in the linked article.

Or worse, get used to it and take seeing busted open, severed heads in stride.

F*** that wimp.
Use these instead.
