When someone beats Thresh with a Spaceball, then I'll listen.
Acually, I did meet one guy who was a Quake pure keyboarder. He had set his turn rate to something hellaciously fast, like 10 revolutions per second, and had simply gone through the learning curve to turn and stop properly. He could keep up easily with very good mousers.
You forgot movies, which are 3D, 2 physical dimensions, and 1 time dimension.
I note that of these various modes (ticker tape, paper, paper-with-time, MMORPG) that pr0n is optimized in the one you left out.*
* Darn, I have to "snap" myself now, by pointing out that "pr0n" is actually "optimized" in 3 physical dimensions, non virtual dimensions, that is. Which would not be obvious to the average slashdotter.
> Any variable, any view can be thought of as a dimension. And having the > option to choose which one to navigate along is pretty useful dontchathink?
I'd hate to think what the link is from the word "dontchathink".

Spock: His actions show intelligence. But his thinking is two-dimensional.
I don't know. In the original Quake online, with the 3Wave CTF mod, including the old-school grappling hook, I could whip around the map in a way that would shame Spiderman.
And those that single-parents whose partner were killed so they stay at home to raise their children properly can do what? Or what about those that retire? Is healthcare "free" for them as well?
So because a few poor widows or old people need assistance, you want to take over everybody's health care? What temerity! What balls!
> Just had a bypass that would have cost me over $100,000 in the USA; here in Canada, Free!
Note to Canadians: It wasn't "Free!" It just appeared free due to accounting gimmicks that actually cost you more in the long run, especially when you count reduced technological development due to a reduced profit motive.
What have we learned from these three nested posts above? That if you label America bad and evil, you get modded up. If you point out that America will not, and can not, actually censor these posts, you get modded down. "Unoficially censored", if you will, the knowledge that you are not, in fact, censored.
As this post is anti-Slashdot, I humbly await my censoring downmod.
Seanbaby.com is a porn web site, according to my corporate blocking filter at work. Bummer!
I wonder if this list includes Mechwarrior II: Mercenaries, which should simultaneously be on the best and worst lists of all time.
From the wonderful tutorial that set a new record for immersion to the bugs that caused your mech to gain ever more weight as you swapped items out, to the bug that finally I couldn't get by because the game kept crashing at that point.
I recall there was a point where the game suddenly changed, and suddenly all your mechs sucked compared to what was lying around on the battlefield, except the Atlas D, which was overshadowed by...the new Atlas K!
Actually, the game suffered from what I call "Sim Ant Syndrome". In Sim Ant, whatever ant you took over to control, all the opposing ants made a Bee-line for that ant. Switch to another ant, and they all suddenly went after that.
In Mech Warrior 2: Mercs, it was the same. So I gave myself the Speedy Zippster, which went like 170 kph, and gave my wingmen the Atlas D and Atlas K, and I trained the "bad guys" around while the Atlases cut 'em down. Dumbasses!
new security policies that lock out some third-party security solutions altogether
Ya know, part of the problem currently is that I can't kill off some processes that are "system" because "I don't know what I'm doing and it's safer this way". Nevermind that the viruses got around all that and installed themselves as those kinds of processes.
For shit's sake, I had one infection so bad it was active even booted in "Safe" mode! And yet I could have gotten rid of it if only I could have killed some processes.
Eventually I reinstalled the OS, and it ran fine until the HDD crashed and I had to reinstall it again. Many web sites still do popups, even with "popup blocker" installed.

An Ode To Al

"The Boston Globe has up a feature story on Weird Al in its Sunday edition. The article refers to his staying power as prince of the parody. It's an ode to his determination, talent, and relevance... and, of course, the funny."
> North Korea has chosen to stay wholly off the grid.
I'm sure Fearless Leader is on the grid. And that's all that has to be, given we recognize the right of the person most able to kill off his political enemies as being just as legitimate as democracy and freedom.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it myself when I found out HK-47's brain would, 4000 years later, be used by Anakin for 3PO's brain. I was like FTW!
Loved the Guardian class -- all lightsaber, baby!
Loved the mentat class, whatever was the force power main class. Force lightning group attack. Fotz! Fotz! Move on.
Couldn't stand the half-and-half class. Jack (well, Jill) of all trades, mistress of none, doesn't suit my minimax personality.
No I can't! My main is a L18 Gnomette mage.
Hey! You just embiggened my vocabulary. Thanks!

Oh, come on. You never wanted to go around behind that "Britney Giving Birth" statue, just for a peek?

Wandering around a Shaniah Twain video wouldn't suck.

You just had to learn to be a "mouser".
And stop posting pictures in non-binary newsgroups, while you're at it!
Fraudulent high weighting of things that the US is iffy on, thus deliberately pushing the US further down the list?

Mr. Journalist: step a few hundred yards closer to Havana and see what happens, freedom-wise.
