    I thought Tesla varies the charging rate. I think these batteries can soak up a lot of current when they are mostly discharged.

    Over half of American households have two or more cars. Electric cars are an ideal second vehicle, used exclusively for commuting or running errands. This is a huge market opportunity and completely moots your points. Two car families can always fall back on their ICE car in the short term. In the long term, the problems you cite will likely be resolved by improved battery and charging technology.

    There are a lot of flood plains, earthquake zones, hurricane and tornado alleys, and fire-prone areas in this country. The idea that people could simply move out of all of those areas is not realistic.

    The idea that Russian or Chinese hackers couldn't hurt you personally is ludicrous on its face.

    I used Kaspersky many years ago, but would strongly recommend against it now. There is too much risk that the Russian government, which is basically a massive criminal enterprise, has its fingers in that pie.

    I am OK with Best Buy making this call. If you want to go to the website and order directly from Kaspersky, more power to you.

  8. I tried that. It doesn't work. I tried to show a family member how to use Snopes to find out if a story was true or not, before forwarding it on to others, and they said they didn't care if it was true.

    The employees like it, the customers like it, and nobody who didn't voluntarily put themselves in this situation is affected by it, save for the raw dynamics of business (i.e. some other company is capturing your market better than you, so you're losing business and they're gaining business; this is why the RIAA wants rights-enforcement jurisdiction over RIAA-independent artists, not just those who sign with one of the RIAA labels). Complaining that you don't agree with how it should work is literally the same as complaining that some people have gay sex or study Marx: it's not your business.

    At least some employees don't like it, and they are suing Uber.

    Taxi drivers have invested a lot more into their occupation than Uber drivers. They have a lot more to lose.

    That is a very incomplete and one-sided retelling of American history.

    The Confederate battle flag represents the Confederacy, which was formed in order to defend the economic interest of the south to maintain the evil system of slavery. So, it's not unfair to say that it is a white supremacist symbol.

    It is, however, dishonest to boil down over 200 years of history in the way you have done. For instance, the U.S. has provided financial support and also apologized to native Americans essentially for driving them off of their land. The American flag represents that as well. It's a complex history.

    The Confederate battle flag has not been banned. It has merely been removed from product offerings and search results by private corporations and the national park service. You are still free to purchase and display that flag.

    Some are commenting that Google is not removing shopping results for 'swastika'. That's Google's editorial policy. It has nothing to do with free speech or any other individual rights. It is a double standard though.

    When Putin charges someone with corruption, it's usually because they control government expenditures and are unwilling to give him his usual kickback.

    I should have said that Putin charges people with corruption when they have access to government expenditures and won't give him his cut, if they control a company whose assets he would like to steal (usually via an associate), or if he perceives them as a threat.

    When Putin charges someone with corruption, it's usually because they control government expenditures and are unwilling to give him his usual kickback. So, it looks like he's going to create a new space agency and install an ally to take advantage of the inherent business opportunities provided by access to a budget of over $5 billion.
