Sorry I have to tell you that your username is politically incorrect.. I have been informed at work that you can no longer say dykes, they're called Lesbian Cutters. You should request a name change from slashdot staff to avoid confusion O.o

  4. You seem awfully hung up on the word "incel". Why that one in particular? It's what they call themselves. Is it heinous to call them by their own chosen name?

To be honest I don't even know what the word means and don't really care to. It is obviously a slur of some form and I have no use for it. I just think the rampant name calling here is getting out of control. You don't even know these people. I'm sure most of them are pretty cool people. Sure we got people like bill, and jojo that are off their nut... But you got to admit they do at least bring some comedic value to these comment sections.

Not quite exactly. The libs have this decades-long habit of using a sledgehammer when they should be using a scalpel. You know that. I know that. The collateral damage is extremely high. And it cost both sides dear: we stopped listening to the alarmism while they cried wolf for decades, but that's exactly how the wolves slipped in.

Correct, they do have very crude tactics for trying to get people on their side about an issue, shaming and name calling being one of them. Don't get me wrong I think they're the largest group of misguided thoughts, who also think they can do no wrong. This is my main reason for loathing them. Also I dont like people who think their better than others with no substantial evidence or proof for feeling that way. The things I've seen you say.. You fall into a category of them.. I will also say there are NAZI!!!!'s on both sides of the spectrum, and probably incels too whatever the hell that means. No political party has a monopoly on stupidity, even if it can be hard to tell some times. And trust me at some times it is very hard to tell. As I said I used to consider myself one of the two but now that I've gotten older in life, I consider myself pretty much in between everybody which is a hard place to sit sometimes. I agree with some of the things liberals say, I agree with some of the things conservatives say. Hell I even agree with some of the things the socialists and nazi's say. That doesn't make me a bad person. Hopefully that doesn't make me an incel O.o ... I get some times you have to fight stupidity with stupidity. But you have made yourself out to look like the nut job that falls in line with the others I mentioned above on this site. Under the name calling you seem like a decent guy. But maybe you should let your personal feelings get a little less in the way of coherency in your posts. Just out of curiosity what is your profession? I'm a 16 year Electrician/Low Voltage tech, Who also happens to be a hardcore nerd.

  5. Very true, but just because they lack the ability to upload on the GPS network, does not mean a purpose built network wouldnt work. My point is GPS is available for all, and it is a "massive grid of satellites". Sure you will have to have a dish/antenna on the ground to be able to communicate and have full internet connection. But it can be done. And apparently they have some sort of idea on how to do it cheap enough to make it worth while. People also didn't think he would be able to reuse rockets, then people said he would never be able to gracefully land said rockets. Well, so far his off the wall ideas seem to be working. Im all for faster, cheaper internet. Imagine when its a large sat network, and its like dial-up where you can get service from any multitude of companies. Hell with it being satellite you will be able to get internet service through companies that solely exist on another continent. That is the internet I hope to come from this.

AMD is claiming Zen 2 29% IPC lift. If it's anything like what they said before release of zen 1 we may see 35-40% IPC lift. Even the former outs Intel in 2nd place. Hopefully they can get 10nm working sooner than later to keep innovation flowing.

The main reason to have more cores is to be able to do more things at once. Remember when you used to be limited by your cpu how many things you could do at once without bogging everything down? You no longer have to worry about closing chrome when you go to play your game for a few hours. Providing you have the ram overhead to make up for chromes memory leaks(seriously they have had memory leaks for a decade, literally since day 1 what gives Google??)

  11. It's Intel, did you expect anything less? Let's be fortunate we have reviewers like Linus that care more about informing the viewer/consumer than appeasing the company for giving him free hardware.

  12. That 64 core processor is going to have a hearty price tag at launch though. Not to mention the board and cooler for it.

  13. That's one of the leading reasons AMD is considered the budget conscious chip maker. Sure you may not be able to use all of the latest and greatest features of the new chip but you can buy it and use it until you can afford the newer chipset that supports all of the new features. And it will still be faster than the old generation chip you replaced it with. If you're not like me and keep all old hardware, you could even sell it used to offset the price of the new motherboard with no downtime waiting to buy a new motherboard.

  14. Zen 2 should fix that IPC offset. Putting Intel in 2nd place for he first time in a decade! The next few cpu cycles should should be great for us consumers! I love when the competition is razer sharp on both sides! Consumers always win in these situations. But as of today you're 100% correct and you need to always use the right tool for the job.

  15. Define "Linux can now complete infinite loops in 2 seconds, instead of 5!" please. I have never had such problem. I have seen the infinate boot loops due to bad motherboard firmware or windows updates. I have not had either of those two issues on Linux what wasn't on an embedded device.

  18. Afaik AMD chips are assembled in the USA. Some in New York and some in Florida. My R7-1700 was assembled in Florida. Both AMD and Intel are US companies. Meaning they were all designed here.
