I have the Gigabyte AX370-Gaming 5. Corsair Vengence RGB(8x2) ram 3466 rated, without tweaking it i can only get it to run at 3200. but if I play with timings and voltage i can get 3466. All of the motherboard manufacturers are having issues with their boards because most of them didn't think AMD would have a product worth a large lineup.. And we are all paying for it now. I'm hoping the X470 boards have a little more thought put into them. That being said, I love my system and it has handled every task I have thrown at it. And from my experience Ryzen overclocks better than Deneb did.
The current case I use my wife found next to a dumpster at her friends house. i brought it inside and looked it up, was a $180 case at the time(3 years ago) and it has served me well! Also, thats a lot of drives, kindof limits you to what you can build. whynot just setup a system with SMB and NFS and throw it in a large black box with tons of drive space, then you can still build a pretty rig..
If its DSL the first thing i would do is re terminate every connection of your phone line from the street to the house, and if yo ucan pull some twisted pair to do it with. It will greatly improve your stability. It takes a little bit of skill, but if you have any integrity it should be easy.
Bios modders are working on this as we speak. there is already a few that have succeeded but I think thats what spurred the PSP exploit that was just released a few weeks back.
I hope the ram you have is atleast 3000Mhz, youre better off with the highest speed ram you can get with ryzen. just a heads up. Other than that looks like a decent build.
Yes! Fast ram and NVMe is a must for ryzen! Especially the 1600x when overclocking.. much better scale-ability since the cache overclocks with the cpu, and it has the same amount of cache as the R7 cpu's..

Agreed, i have a few old FX cpu's i have re-purposed for other things, like a small gaming rig for my girl, home server for files and a few other things I keep running.. But depending on benchmarks i may be upgrading her pc to a R7-1700 im typing on now and buying me a new toy to play with and learn the new overclocking quirks.
R7-1700 owner here. Love it, Glad I purchased it even know i would have preffered waiting for Zen+ due to a few bugs in architecture and microcode. Other than that it works great, overclocks great, and runs cool while doing so. Granted some of that is the silicon lottery at play, but I've played with 5 chips and they all work well. the 1600x is a great buy especially if you plan to overclock. As far as I know and can tell the Zen+ architecture will work in current AM4 motherboards. It wont be until Zen 2 that there may be a socket change. Other than that AMD's long term goal is to do the same thing they did with AM3, while also adding APU's to the AM4 socket lineup.

Well, With the recent rolling out of Gigabit internet in places around the country, this might be what we need to kick it into everywhere.. my brother has gigabit internet at his house, fiber into the garage.. he wont let me run fiber to the switch i gave him yet, guess i get to wait for the next round of drywall cutting.. Back to the point, When i play games at his house, even on eastcoast servers i get about a 10ms ping at most, so IF the customers have good internet, fiber obviously being the best scenario. I could see the concept of the game streaming working. And it might be an incentive to get the ISP's to roll out fiber faster than what they are doing. Hopes and Dreams my friend, But we used to dream of internet wide 1mbit+ internet..

I never asked Windows to update, and it installs the drivers without any user input. therefor I DIDN'T agree to anything. The person/entity you are looking to sue would be Microsoft for forcing me into breaking your contract rules.

Current Ryzen is 14nm, zen+ is supposed to be 12nm+ and I thought they were going to 10nm after but i guess they're jumping right to 7.
