For pessimists having doubts 'is global warming a reality', please look around you. Ask yourself this question...are summers hotter than 10 years back?
While biking to work today morning in Cupertino, California, I wore a cotton shirt. Six years back in April I needed warm clothes. My mother complains summers are much more hotter in Kerala, India than in the 1960's. This year they might buy an airconditioner and that extra energy utilization probably adds to global warming in an indirect way.
Well, my point was that if they could find some info on the software or techniques used for cracking the gene code it would be more interesting. If the editors contacted the Canadian lab which did the cracking, I am sure they would have given some interesting info on how it was done.
This would be more interesting since cracking the SARS gene code was a race against time.
It does not really matter whether a Beowulf cluster or mainframes were used.
What is more important...finding the genetic info of SARS virus or the fact some cluster was used to find it...I would be more happy if the editors can include some info about the type of software or techniques used rather than hardware.
Does it really matter if it was Beowulf or mainframes?
One minute you're looking out your bay window at your neighbor's lovely wife, and the next you're watching something other than Tom Cruise and 'Top Gun'

You will not personally solicit $$$ or other employees for gifts, flowers, social occasions, etc. on $$$ premises.
I just installed the new DirectX 9 and upgraded the ATI driver for Radeon8500 (there is no real advantage for DirectX 9 with Radeon8500). The system got completely screwed up. I had to reinstall everything.
After installing the ATI drivers the system restarts...here it hangs. Be careful while doing this...there is some problem with DirectX and ATI Radeon drivers.
It is much bigger than I thought!
