What's with the idea that big companies are evil? Aren't big companies just small companies that don't suck? Big companies may be slow, misguided, or sometime just plain dumb... but "evil"?
The title of the article is a little misleading - while the ruling does bar municipalities creating their own networks, this does not stop private groups of citizens from creating municipal networks.
So a motivated group of citizens can still create a city wide wireless network, it's just the local governments that can't. (I wonder if the govt. can give grants to the citizens... that'd be a nice work-around)
I just switched a few months ago and (although I don't know what the docs were like a while ago) the Gentoo install documentation is excellent even for non-gentoo users interested in how things work.
I'd recommend people looking for something flexible and easy to keep up to date give it a try, I've been very impressed.
Maybe it's because I'm older (32) but I tend to dislike games that pander 'adult' content as that adult content tends to be geared more towards horny teenage boys than real adults.
Examples: Laura Croft's physique. Almost any D&D female char. will be in a full plate... bikini.
Maybe the industry is confusing 'adult' with 'sophmoric'. At least Half Life 2's Alyx seems to buck the trend.

You're forgetting only 2 things...
1) Someone has to use a whole whack of energy just to make all that hydrogen
2) The Hindenburgh (Gas tanks tend to burn, pressurized gas cylinders tend to explode)
