Yes, I'm well aware of that, however, the defacto is.com regardless of what country you're in. I have plenty of over seas friends who all go to a.com first until they find a.nl or.uk or.de for their respective countries (if they even have one)
The reason why is becuase it had no overseas appeal. It had to do with the US and the French. Well, first, who cares about the french...Likewise, Europeans and Aussies don't care much for Americans (or the French for that matter)...
It's better to have several limited audiences (like the beginnings of Xena and Hercules) that will eventually grow in to several moderate sized audiences, than just the one. The several in this case being audiences in Australia, Europe, US, etc.
For a second there I thought maybe Cowboy Neal had written the article, after all it's "percent" when talking about % (percentages), not "per cent" which would be talking about how much on the dollar.
Anyway, the whole "per cent" thing drove me crazy after seeing it about the 5th time. I just couldn't go on.
approximately 400,000,000 Christians living in this country.
I don't know of any country that has 400 million christians in it. The only countries with that many people in it of all one religion are China and India...guess this guy is from Mars.
Then you're one of the lucky ones...and be glad for it.
I had BA/Verizon DSL for about a year in Annandale, VA, I'd get drops about once a month for 8hrs +. Then one day, my stuff stopped working.
I had gotten to the point where when talking to tier 1 support, I said transfer me to tier 2, then had to berate them when they wouldn't, even AFTER reading my tracking numbers.
I finally got to the secret tier 3 support, that they'll deny having until you get in my position.
So one month later, several trips from technicians, my DSL still didn't work. I cut them off, moved to cable, and continued to get billed for my DSL for several months later. So, right now, over a year later, Verizon still owes ME about 350 dollars. That I have yet to see.
If anyone says their not a monopoly, that person needs to be taken out back and beat severly about the head and shoulders until they see the light!
If any of you have played the game Shadowrun (or similiar themed games).

This has been mentioned before. I believe when the RIAA posted it's profits of some 40 billion dollars which was several billion over what it had made the year before that many people had mentioned this, and other "reports" or "studies" had shown that, yes, users of Napster tend to buy more CDs.
This gets a two "Duhs" up from me.
They're not forced to use the AOL Client, they can do things inside the company that will allow them to get an aol.net account which will allow them to use an SMTP and POP3 server so that they can choose whatever mail package they want. Don't feel sorry for them b/c they have to use it, because they don't.
The people at chernobyl and it's outlying areas had to eat. The food they've been eating was/is contaminated with low levels of radiation.
having not read the article, this is what I would guess as having seen documentaries on the subject.

I'd expect to see Shell's website at www.shell.com, but maybe that's just me.
