I own a Yopy Dev kit, and the thing rocks... why they dropped it?... Probably has something to do with the state of washington, my radar gets foggy after that.
The rule of three doesn't really hold water, i'd say microsoft is running on the rule of 6... they've had a bug in the rule of three since NT 4.0 SP 6.....
I can say from personal experience that starting to work on pc104 is a throwback to the days of building your own clones... When everything you do seems new, and as if no one else has done it before. (Which is ridiculous but still you can think it.) There are many resources out there for building a PC104 system... and right now you could probably get away with spending around 700-900 dollars for a decent 486/P1+ram+MiniLCD+Lion batteries that would fit in a large pocket (or perhaps one of those eholsters that was reported on a while ago.)
the generality of this is obvious. Even the use of the word "technology" in the context it was could ban anything from a high-tech unlicensed fileserver, down to anything the supreme court deems "technology."... now isn't that convenient...
they can do whatever the hell they want with their licensing schemes... it's whether or not they'll hold water in court that you should really be worried about...
who says anyone doing this would have to announce that they did it? why not just go ahead and post it in some warez and let some script kiddie propogate it... and post the source for people to see how insanely easy it was to do it
Unfortunately there was prior art... (if not true 3d... it could be argued the concept is not original) With Meridian-59 (www.meridian-59.de) which is still running (if only in german)... and one could even argue strongly on the Shadow of Yserbius released 6 years prior

One of these days I'll be able to actually read an article that get's /.ed without getting a connection threshold error.
Maybe there needs to be a Cached version of the page posted along with the link.
