    Well, maybe not beheading people, but shooting and bombing people and burning/tearing down buildings is done by Israelis in Palestina.

    That's the difference between Christianity and Islam. Christianity had a Reformation. 500 years ago Christians fought a bunch of wars and decided, "You know, maybe we should seperate our churches and our governments, and not get quite so riled up when the guy down the street doesn't believe what I believe." That never happend for Islam. Islam 500 years ago is the same as Islam today.

    With this though, I have to agree (at least to a certain degree.) Yet I find your statement a little bit oversimplyfied. Islam today is certainly not the same as Islam 500 years ago, at least not in most countries with a muslim majority. But you are right in that significant changes to these societies have not come about until something like 80 years ago.

    If you can, your garbage collector is broken.
    Not neccessarily. With a reference counting GC you can have circular references between objects that can't be reached anymore but wont be collected either. This is a problem of this particular GC algorithm but one wouldn't really call the GC 'broken' because of it.
    It really depends of your definition of 'broken'.

    Your time might be better spent at the real Distributed Proofreaders, or DP-Europe, since Projekt Gutenberg-DE is not an offical branch of PG, and actually copyrights its output

    The OCA is making available the images of scanned pages.

    So, as the summary states:
    make them available for Web searching
    does not mean that there will be a complete text index available (that is full text search,) but instead you can only search for specific works?

    If you'd like to help prepare public domain ebooks, visit Distributed Proofreaders and proofread a page a day (or more!).

    Shortcuts are not as transparent as symlinks. For instance shortcuts have to have the .lnk extension.

    If you were to print output to stdout in C, you would be using printf.


    Or in this case putchar. I mean, why call a function that is capable of rather complex string formatting if you're just going to print one character.

    Piracy isn't theft. Theft is the action in wich one denies others acces to the stolen goods. Piracy doesn't deny anoyne acces to the pirated goods. So piracy is per definition not theft.

    Well, the last time pirates looted me ship they sure denied me access to the pirated goods. So piracy is theft!

    They're trying to create an object-oriented shell, where all system components are accessible as objects. This is naturally much more complex than a shell and command-line tools based on manipulation of text streams, but includes a lot of theoretical advantages, if it works.


    And if you look at how they designed the object hierarchies in VBA or WScript it becomes clear that MSH will not work. (Or at least not really provide the advantages that can be expected from such a system.)

    It's the table layout, not the theme. They "bleed" into each other on Mozilla

    The table layout works fine for me with Firefox on any OS I've used so far.
