So I am reading this thread and what does the quote at the bottom of the screen say
you can tell the ideals of a nation by its advertisements. -- Norman Douglas
How fitting, what does advertising in this case Spam say about our nation or the Internet as a whole?
I can't say that I feel at all sorry for him. Boohoo I have to forge my email headers so I don't get blocked, that should be flat out illegal punishable by prison terms. There is a virus going around that says it's from Microsoft. I think that virus and Spam that purports to be from someone else are exactly fundamentally the same. I think he should be escorted from the floor to a nice cozy jail cell. I also don't think email falls totally under free speech, if some yahoo is out on the street corner saying how the God will punish women who wear short shorts (We had this guy at Florida State) that's one thing, you don't have to pay money to listen to him, unless your bored and want a good laugh. But when you get ads for stuff in your mailbox you are paying for it. You are paying for storage space, you are paying for access time you are paying for the bandwidth to get these emails. If your using a paid for email address and not one supported through adds like hot mail, you should definitely be able to opt out. $0.02

Wow, I'm amazed that we were able to bring the race card in to issue with a topic that was about the shuttle. That was better than connecting the Marx brother to Kevin Bacon.
The United States has lost two shuttle crews and one Apollo crew on the pad. So in 30 to 40 years we lost 17 people IIRC, I do not personally think that in unacceptable. Lets be honest space is dangerous, and I think it is unreasonable to think that travel to and from space will become routine any time soon. Even then, driving to the corner store is routine for most of us and it's not even safe. If you afraid of the risks don't do it but don't make the choice for others who want to take the risk. Is it expensive? Yes. Can we expect to make actually monetary returns on the investment? Probably not. But it must be done.
Space ahs been claiming lives every since Giordano Bruno was burned alive by the Inquisition and it will continue to do so.
It's amazing how no matter how well a program is made their are people out there with a hardware setup that just doesn't go well with the program. Like super Murphy's law. I personally disagree with your assertion that SuSE is not yet ready for n00bs. I will be installing this on my parents machine as soon as a get to take a vacation down to Fl. I am truly sorry that you had such a bad time with this version and hope you don't give up on it all together.
$0.02 First, so it gets read let me put this part first The best part of SuSE it how it handles existing windoze partitions. No work is needed on your part, it detects them and adds icons for you on the desk top.
The register was dead on with 8.2 . It had the fastest most pleasant install I have ever had with 6 years of using Linux. I used the updated from NVidia, ignoring the warning about SaX2, it worked flawlessly, and KDE 3.1 is as smooth as ice. 8.2 includes all the packages I have grown to love in SuSE plus allot of new ones. I didn't have to tweak any of my hardware. I was up and running in no time. If your wondering if it it time to try Linux again or try another distro, try SuSE.
You might not be able to get ISO's but you can DL Suse of the net, go to Suse.com and it gives you ftp sites to use. I instaleld 8.1 this way with NO problem.
Esp. with HTML, are they saying the.html file is art? No. It's not art until it a gets read by a browser then get viewed by a person. The chemical structure of a pigment is not art either until someone or something else processes it.
I think people tend to classify stuff to quickly. I think something needs to float around in the public for a while before you go and give it the title Art.
I don't want to sound like a troll, thats just my take on it.

You have got to be joking, I refuse to believe that this is tha fammed IT, we all heard about. This is 5 magnitudes beyond stupid. I feel cheated and used by a huge corporate entity, someone look for a Microsoft logo on it.
Hopefully this is just a joke or something and the REAL IT will be out later. Kudos to the marketing team though.
But on a lighter side it is my FIRST POST! it must be an unintentional side effect of IT, I'm sure.
I'm looking for Jayson Blair in the by-line.
