WOW addiction is covered in a very entertaining way in the latest 2 episodes of the Net show http://www.purepwnage.com/ I love the scene where he's trying to explain to the psychiatrist that he hasn't had food for days because "priest's don't need to eat, and you know, typically my regen is so high cus of my high spirit that I'm basically always full anyways"
Man, the second these guys think they have some level of dominance they think they can do anything... Just like what will happen with PS3 vs the XBOX2, they loose site of market and try to control it.
Just read the article, and I'm disappointed that they didn't mention the heat of the chip during overlock... which would mean quieter cooling.. or did I miss something? He references little green men as how no more watts are consumed by the overclock. Oh well. At Least UT was really fast;)
This seems to be an indicator of how much time you spend chatting on IM with complete strangers more than anything. I compared 2 of my ex-girlfriends. One is incredibly social, cool, and successful, and rated a 40. The other is quiet and inroverted, and her first "boyfriend" was a creepy 46 year old guy that she met on IRC. She scored a 1098. 'nuff said
The mechanisms for changing depression are very similar to Electroconvulsive Therapy.

From my own research and experience(I have an MA in Psychology), these treatments are generally effective and a good alternative when nothing else has worked. When you're really depressed, even a small chance of dying is worth being normal. Movies have really demonized Electroconvulsive Therapy because it is such a horrible proccess to watch and is so dramatic, but in reality, the patient almost never remembers any pain, and the results can save really depressed people from suicide. Anyway, maybe this can take ECT's place since it doesn't have the same negative connotations attached to it, and potentially helpe alot of people.
hm.....with all of that hydrogen on board, more like,
Is this a bomb??
No!! It's the invisibility cloak all over again!

I remember Nextfest 2004 in San Fran last year and it's major disappointment... the invisibility cloak. Man o man everybody wanted to see that thing... but it could only be viewed from ONE SPOT because it was using a projector and a videocamera!
Obviously, you have never read any research on this phenomenon. It's not just a "claim", this assumption of the brain seems to be hardwired in. If you're looking for an exact explanation, I'm sorry that neuroscience hasn't yet to figure out exactly which neurons are involved. It is not just stating it in a different language, because it takes out many of the variables such as the "atmospheric lense" or the effect of a reference point such the horizon.
I remember learning about this in Perceptual Psychology a few years ago. The evidence for the mental sky-dome model, in my view, abundant and undeniable. Studies of children from age 4 to adult suggest that the moon illusion is present in children, and is stronger than it is in adults. It decreases in strength with age. [Liebowitz, H. and Hartman, T. "Magnitude of the Moon illusion as a Function of the Age of the Observer." Science, 130, 569-570.] This study was done indoors in a large darkened room (no other visual cues) with artificial moons at distances of 85 feet.
Now ANOTHER moon illusion the article doesn't mention, is why it appears to be FLAT and not a sphere.
He answers objections about spamming and "dumb friends" by saying that the network will basically allow someone to be discredited fairly easily. Any sources that gives bad advice will quickly be given a few bad reviews. The problem with this is that "goodness" is somewhat subjective. If you ever use amazon, you know that pretty much everything has at least few marks against it. If you want a network to be big enoguh to come up on searches, chances are that you're going to have a wide variety of opinions
Despite audiogalxy being sued, it is still a great tool for finding new bands. It displays similar artists to the ones being searched for, and it has a featured artists section where good independent band's music is reviewed and partially downloadable. This is the best place I've found on the web to find excellent new non-mainstream bands
If Mambo is anything like Zombo http://www.zombo.com/, you can do anything you want... the only limit... is yourself.

this sound exactly like the intro to the 90's remake of night of the living dead, which in my humble opinion is the best zombie flick of all time.

The hubris of these guys... how many times in history has a $399 game console sold well?
Oh wait, it's not just a game console "this time"?
It's an entire entertainment center? A supercomputer too? Gee, in THAT case....
