Nader certainly is an idiot, but he's correct when he says there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans.
Both parties want a larger and larger federal government. Both parties are heavily socialist. Both parties continually erode our freedoms. Both want to provide welfare to people and corporations. Both use our money to buy their power base.
Who cares if one wants to grow the government at 7% a year and one at 6.5% ?
Well, gosh, when the top 5% income bracket pays 95% of the taxes, it stands to reason that a tax cut benefits them.
How horrible, letting people keep more of the money they actually earned. Whoever came up with such a ludicrous idea?
The only difference between you and "Dubya" is that he wants to take our hard-earned money and use it for his projects, and you want to take it and use it for yours.
Please explain that logic. It would appear that every time I vote Libertarian, Republicans lose races, and they have to stress their tiny little brains and think about maybe making their platform appeal to some of us that don't like big government.
We can't cut spending, because everybody wants their piece of the pie. Surveys show most people support a smaller government with less spending, however, when asked, most of them wouldn't cut any specific programs.
What would we do if we didn't provide for a perpetual underclass to keep democrats and republicans in office ?
Or consider the disaster that would follow if we stopped defending Europe or Asia!
2002 Lotus Elise - 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, top speed 125mph. Did you mean there are very few trucks that can outperform it?:) Not to mention it weighs 1600 lbs...
A Hayabusa? That's a Motorcycle, no? What's it weigh, 500lbs at most? Non-sequitor anyone? Are you familiar with the concept of power to weight ratios?
I'm afraid your three red herrings aren't that red, and don't refute his argument either.
Actually, there are no proven medical benefits to circumcision. Epidemiologic studies of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and male circumcision are naturally biased and confounded by unmeasured STD exposure, which is tied to markers such as geographic, ethnic, socio-economic and other risk factors.
Penile cancer is virtually non-existant because of the amount of circulation in the region.
Circumcision might reduce infection rates from HIV, but only to the same extent that the more of your genitals removed, the less surface area vulnerable to infection.
Did you know that a US Army study showed that circumcised males were 1.65 times more likely to contract chlamydia?
These kinds of wives tales have been around for thousands of years, so I can't really blame you.
I'm sorry you have some issues about your lack of a foreskin. It happens to the best of us, but sexual mutilation doesn't have to continue just so "son looks like daddy", nor do you have to push such a barbaric practice so that you don't feel alone in your resentment.
The entire Bill of Rights consists of nothing but individual rights. Nice rant, but you're incorrect.
If you're asserting that the Supreme Court is infalliable and/or not poliitcally motivated, I'm surprised you possess the intelligence necessary to breath.
At least we still have the means to remove our government should it prove necessary.
Of course, I don't expect that to ever happen, no matter how bad it gets. Nobody cares. Monday night football is still on. Friends is still on. Stores still have cold beer. Why should anyone even call or write their congress critters, let alone overthrow a corrupt government.
If it's so horrible, quit. If you won't quit, then there must be something you appreciate about the job, so you shouldn't fuck them over by releasing trade secrets.
I'm sorry, but if you can't tell the difference, you're the one listening to the bullshit and not the actions. They both restrict our freedoms, they both milk us for tax money, they both grow the government.
We want to be fat, lazy, and comfortable. 99.9% of the population cares more what happens on the next episode of Friends than they do about who's running the country, how much they pay in taxes, or what freedoms they lose.
Why should they be inconvenienced to fight a menace to freedom ?
1. No, actually as bad as our taxes are, we're still paying a lot less than you. When I quote 55%, that's our total taxes. That means when I buy a pizza for $10, and $6 of it ends up being paid in taxes along the route (farmers, tomato sauce canners, etc), the total ends up being 55% of our income, on average.
2. Where in my post did I say I wanted 144 stealth bombers? However, at least providing for the common defense is the most legitimate purpose of a national government. Isn't that pretty much why we form governments?
3. We spend far more on health care than we do on the military.
4. Welfare programs don't do anything for me. Amazingly enough, we got along fine without them for a couple of hundred years. Shocking as it may be, you yuro-peens got along without them for a few thousand years. Although I suspect anyone with even the slightest sense of independence long since left your continent.
5. Yes, why don't we look at yuro-peen taxes? How about Germany? Income is taxed at 60%. Corporations are taxed at 45%, unless they fall under the special "entrepreneurial taxes" of 47-53%. Wow, you guys sure have us beat on "punish the succesful".
6. A huge chunk of my income towards health care? I'm sorry, I live in a (mostly) capitalist country. I pay $60 a month for excellent health insurance. I probably average about $40 in out of pocket expenses per year. Wow, if only the government would rape me for another $20k or so a year to pay for "free" health care, then my life would be complete.
I also appreciate that our medical care is actually GOOD. In fact, it's the best in the world. Thank god it's not free yet!
Oh sorry - I should qualify that for you collectivists. That's based on quality, not quantity.
How exactly did we survive before we paid an average of 55% of our income in taxes? Or before we paid income taxes at all?
I guess by your spelling you're a Yuro-peen. You guys can have fun over there - tax yourselves to death, hell, just fork over your entire income and live "safe and cozy".
However, I don't want to pay for anyone else's healthcare, and I don't want them paying for mine. Piss off, and give me my money back. 50% of our taxes go into wealth redistribution - I hardly see why I need to spend 3 months out of the year working for someone who deserves my income more than I do.
It's really scary living in the real world, maybe someday you'll grow a pair and won't need to live in a nanny-state.
You deserve even worse for not blocking everything to begin with.
Yeah, I exaggerated. So I looked up the actual data:
The top 25% paid 84% in 2000.

Real fair. Nothing like punishing the successful.
Leave it to the left wingers to come up with asinine plans like "tax credits" to people who don't even pay taxes.
Yeah, Bill Gates inherited all his money, like all rich people.
Please, continue to convince yourself that NOBODY becomes rich through hard work or brain power. That way, you won't feel so bad about not being rich.
Jealousy sucks, huh?
People with character just aim higher, people with no character try to drag everyone down to their level. You're not rich, so why should they be ?

Actually, every proposal I've seen exempts the first $30k-$35k from sales tax each year.
Please explain that logic. It would appear that every time I vote Libertarian, Republicans lose races, and they have to stress their tiny little brains and think about maybe making their platform appeal to some of us that don't like big government.

You'd think if he's actually paid to run this site, he might occasionally read articles on it ...
Now they're going to tax domain ownership!
List price on a 767 is only around $100M ... and that's list price. :)
Screw trucks. I'm tired of paying for highways for trucking companies to destroy before I can use them, then jack-knife in front of me and kill me.
Use railroads. They're second only to ships in cargo/fuel efficiency.

Idiot. If any of those things are important to them, they shouldn't be releasing trade secrets.
If you're stupid enough to release trade secrets and you're in a dire situation, you deserve exactly what you get.
Yes, voting worked really well for you circa 1933.
Sure you can. As long as you only want a 9GB drive.
...
What happens when you want a 160GB SCSI drive @ $900?
Seems like $200 for a 160GB EIDE + $99 for an adapter is a WEE tad cheaper
That's a joke, right?
Disarmed citizens are peasants.

It sure seems better than having no job at all.

The LP wins races - just not many national ones. Then again, I don't recall many national GP winners either ...
:)
I'm terribly sorry you don't find the lp platform "coherent".
It's pretty simple to me: if something doesn't hurt anyone else, it shouldn't be illegal.
Where's the difficulty?
Not that the green party's platform isn't easy to understand: spike trees, socialize most everything, ban everything else...
How many democrats voted against it?
That's what I thought.
I'm sorry, but if you can't tell the difference, you're the one listening to the bullshit and not the actions. They both restrict our freedoms, they both milk us for tax money, they both grow the government.
What the hell is the difference?
Does OSDN actually PAY these "editor" guys ??
