Adobe looks so much like a white knight, now. "killustrator may continue" , "ok, you do not have to pay for the work of our attorney",and "oh, all that needs to happen is for killustrator to change its name."
What fools are Adobe? "Illustrator" is not a word to receive trademark protection because it not at all descriptive --- it is a generic term. For instance, "Word" could not receive trademark protection though it is utilized by Microsoft. "Hamburger" could not receive protection although it is utilized by McDonald's in its trademark. Moreover, if the mark is registered, registration itself does not grant protection.
Adobe, in my eyes, remains a party abusing the legal system.
Interesting, while looking at this page, I noticed a link for SELinux / NSALinux. Apparently NAI is the developer of this distro? The page at NAI with information concerning their involvement with SELinux / NSALinux may be found here.
Perhaps this distro is not as 'corrupt' or biased as initially thought.
I think a true test of this model will happen at kuro5hin where Rusty (the kuro5hin (k5) dude) is attempting a model where a user pays $5 a month and, in return, the user will not have to see ads. k5's test is one to be truly watched --- k5 has a significant number of users, k5 is similar, in some ways, to slashdot and a subscription model was only be utilized/tried at small/insignificant sites.
Why is Ximian trying to make a copy of.NET? Why not make something that is better? We need innovation, dammit! Oh, and let us remember: FreeBSD is much better than Linux. Thank you.
Simple Answer, join (if it is indeed created) the project and contribute. Contribute your reasons of how to make something better. That is innovation.
I thought that if a user had potato and then added some unstable and testing packages that the user shouldn't do a apt-get upgrade because all the stable packages will be written over by the testing packages. Also, if only stable was present on sources.list then a apt-get upgrade would write over the unstable/testing packages with stable ones.
VA Linux once had a debian distro --- I think. Based on this change in strategy with a non-hardware focus, any rumor to VA getting (back) into the linux distro business?
After reading the story and other information in the past concerning this development, I don't understand what redhat is exactly trying to do here. Will redhat package the db on its on and sell the packaging + support? (like it does with linux) Why do this? Why not just increase distribution of PostgreSQL (i.e.: a download page on its site and add a couple of marketing dudes), add pay-for-support and put some caffeine drinking pizza eating coders on PostgreSQL? Seems as though RH is taking this too far. If they are going all the way, perhaps RH should use some stock to buy out one of the above mentioned PostgreSQL distros.
I, for one, am sick of stories related to how humans could, one day, occupy or travel to a planet or moon other than earth. Since the walk on the moon during the cold war, no nation or community of nations has taken a substantive step to occupy or physically visit another planet or moon.
If this event has yet to occur, then I doubt to see it during my lifetime or the lifetime of any user at/.. Generally, humankind does not prepare for such a monumential undertaking unless it is threatened or if a catastrophe has occurred. In other words, unless a meteor hits earth, I doubt humankind will be motivated to do nothing more than talk the talk. By then, obviously, it would be too late.
Moreover, the initiative to travel or occupy another planet or moon would not be based on intelligent astronomical or planetary curiousities but, rather, it would be based on human's animal instincts to survive. If this was not true, then does mankind not currently possess such intelligent curiousities and the technology for a substantive developments?
Is it just me or is there an absence of activity surrounding the U.S. antitrust case against Microsoft? During Bush's campaign, Bush hinted that the government went too far in pursuing the case against Microsoft. Perhaps Microsoft feels free to pursue aggressive anti-competitive tactics with Bush now in office.
As soon as someone finds out exactly which companies will be contracted to provide for or build this network, let me know. I'll take cash advances out on my credit cards to buy that company's stock.
While testing IE6, I noticed a 'flag' on the status bar which indicates privacy compliance or privacy non-compliance. I found every site a visited displayed a red flag. How does a site indicate to IE6 browser that it does, indeed, have a privacy policy? For instance, is a certain name required in home directory (like a site icon)?
For those unfamiliar with the ABA, not all attorneys are members of the ABA. In fact, most attorneys generally do not belong to the ABA because of the organization's political views. For instance, the ABA opposes the death penalty.
Understanding ABA membership does not include a majority of the attorneys in US and state bars, in which membership is mandatory, do, then it would have been much more significant if each state bar took a position on the subject. However, such action would be extremely unlikely.
Yeah, checked MS high-and-low, google search of: metatag "smart tag" disable
turns up no results, http://www.smart-tag.com/ is the site to promote Virginia's transponder on toll roads, and the site of the writer of the smart tag article on MS contains no relevant material.
I have not run across any information, other than the posting on/., that there even is an option to opt-out. I am beginning to think that maybe there really isn't a way to opt-out?

The adoption of this model at k5 has sparked a debate on the site with its initial announcement posted by Rusty.
Will this model succeed or fail? I don't think anyone can answer this question. This model has not be truly tested. But, watching k5, we will see.

Now, that would be interesting.
Is there anyone else who agrees a movie must be made? Any suggestions for lead actors?
IMO, if done correctly, a BG movie would trump Star Wars.

I am not with the company or anything. Just wanted to pass it on because it helps for easily generating and maintaining passwords.

Seriously? It would be very helpful to know of the tag used to block.

Actually Gore never said he invented the Internet and he actually played a significant role. Numerous articles have been written regarding this 'legend'.
Can't handle the heat, eh? Just go to kuro5hin like all others who can't handle it.

They output millions dollar on the organization of a Web Site - and Microsoft has a Smart day
.com bucks and have a smart day. Hasn't the world yet learn from this advice?
Ah, spend
Good lord, who the hell comments on that site? Linux loses to TI 99/4A? What world (and century) do those users live in?

Instead of bitching, I offer suggestions and ask for other suggestions. As a result, I am labelled a troll. I guess it is back to bitching?

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This project is a fluke; an insult to the intelligence of our own race.
We are just now determining duration of habitation on this planet ---
we are the aliens.
I'm surprised I cannot find any open source apps for putting a real estate site online. Wouldn't each broker out there require one?
