A country needs businesses to thrive to be able to produce goods and services, employ workers and contribute taxes and keep the economy ticking over so we can pay for schools and hospitals and F-35's etc. Immigration visas are used all over the world to fill labour shortages and keep production and the economy running. If you scrapped visas completely, some business would fail, thus the visas are supporting its citizens.
Where your issue seems to be, is that because the visas currently aren't 100% accurate at targeting the intended labour shortfall, anyone who supports them is unpatriotic and should be shot. Is that right?

The simple fact that there is a biological limitation on what you can process with different parts of your body. So voice will never be the primary machine interface, because the body allows typing and thinking simultaneously, but it is much harder to talk and think simultaneously. Just as touch is more labour intensive than a keyboard/mouse, so even though it has some applications, when it comes to raw productivity and long term use, the keyboard/mouse still wins.
VR might have some useful applications, but it will never be the norm simply because a regular screen allows me to switch instantly between the virtual world and the real one whenever I need to.

I got GPS bundled in with my new Mazda CX5 and it is absolutely shit. It looks like it was designed in the 90's. The interface is shit, the menus are shit, the resolution is shit, 2D, 3D switching is shit, zooming in and out is shit. I can't believe how this turd passed any sort of QA process
The worst part is that it won't even let you use it when you are driving. So you have to stop, interact with it, then move again. So even when the wife is in the passenger seat she can't use it while I'm driving. It is a complete waste of space.

I'd argue that setting up and maintaining your own server to the same level of service as a Hotmail or Gmail would require more effort overall.
And yes I've been an email admin, and I've had a Hotmail account for 20 years. In that time, Hotmail required much less effort overall.
