Honestly, I don't think it's unethical at all. By Wikipedia's design anybody can change entries, and the Congressmen are people. Besides, it's just an extension of what they do in campaigns to project themselves with a certain image.

This ran afoul of internal Wikipedia guidelines [3], and government ethics' rules on the use of employee time.
We don't care if you think it's unethical or not. It's against both Wikipedia's rules as well as the government's rules. So now it's OK not to follow rules just because you don't agree with them?
If Wikipedia is going to stick to their claim of being open they have to expect people to remove the more nasty bits from their entries.
The checks and balances put into place at Wikipedia make it abundantly clear since 0-day that vandalism and rampant revisionism has been expected. It's also pretty well tended.
Just because there are arguments and articles have to be locked and IPs have to be banned does not mean that there's anything wrong with the concept or the execution of the concept. It means that people are people.
I never understood why so many sites have their video on a dumbass proprietary format.
Because their content is copyrighted and on paper it looks better to use a proprietary format where they can add watermarks and such. An open format has too many options of being tampered with, which is part of the POINT of open formats.
"Immersion" doesn't have anything to do with how realistic a game may or may not be. Real life is pretty uninteresting on a day to day basis, that's why people play games.
I had Super Mario Bros. 3 for my NES, Link to the Past for my SNES, Final Fantasy VII for my PSX, Ocarina of Time for my N64, Phantasy Star Online for my Dreamcast, Kingdom Hearts for my PS2, Animal Crossing for my Gamecube and I was pretty immersed in all those games.
To this date, Super Mario Bros. 3 is still the best-selling stand-alone video game of all time and I don't remember any particle effects. I think there's something to be said for a game being "fun".
Also, what was up with ditching WAP functionality? Why do I need to unsecure my access point to play? (And don't tell me to buy a Nintendo adapter -- I already have an access point).
You can't play internet battles but you can play local wireless battles. Pretty sure the reason why Nintendo would do this is because the network traffic of finding and assembling people to battle for one round isn't worth it. It already takes a minute or so to assemble racers for a full circuit.
Abercrombie & Fitch managers are expected to go out to bars with staff (those who are of age) wearing Abercrombie & Fitch clothes after work. For the ones who are not of age, they are expected to go to the movies (which is where EVERYONE who is not 21 seems to be) wearing Abercrombie & Fitch clothing.
I used to manage for A&F and this, along with how many "A" brand reps and managers you recruit, is how you get promoted within that company.
It's totally believeable that a dating company would have several employees in big cities doing basically the same.
If not, how is a majority of this humor going to translate? It's a heavy parody of American culture. I'm just not sure how that's supposed to sell.
The same way Americans think Absolutely Fabulous, Are You Being Served?, Waiting for God, Monty Python, As Time Goes By, Red Dwarf, Benny Hill, The Young Ones and Keeping Up Apperances are funny.
The people at Nintendo USA thought the Japanese version of SMB2 was too difficult, so they changed the Arabian characters in Doki Doki Panic to Mario and his friends. It's a really interesting story.
The really interesting part of the story is that the only reason why Luigi is taller than Mario consequently is because they had to match up the sprite sizes between the Arabs and the Mario characters.
Since when does saying "Made for iPod" mean that you have to pay dues to Apple?
Because iPod is considered a closed system by Apple: you have to get the specs from them to make an accessory that works with it or risk Apple disabling your device with a software/firmware update (intentional or not).
These screens sound more and more like the novelty cards, and will need a switch on the page otherwise the batteries will flatten before you buy them.
Except that I recall reading on Slashdot a few months back (maybe more) about universal battery chargers that used magnetic plates to recharge the batteries, so if they made the newstands like that, the pages could then always stay charged while on the rack.
Has no one mentioned Harry Potter yet? Sheesh, news for nerds indeed.
if they actually do care about the UI for once that would not be a bad thing
The problem is MS's idea of improving the interface is to add wizards to everything, instead of fixing the basic flaws in the design that make it so it requies an assistant everytime you want to do something like connect to the internet or download photos from a digital camera.
There is no "can't do without OpenGL" when you are talking about Quartz. OpenGL is the 3D layer of Quartz.
I guess that's why you're so up in arms over George Bush's crusade, oh, sorry, "faith-based initiatives" slaughtering people in the Middle-East.
If it weren't for double standards, most people wouldn't have any standards at all.
That's the same question I keep asking about Cheney!

And, to me, that's the most attractive idea behind Wikipedia.
No one gets to "buy" history or information on Wikipedia with money or influence. The person with the loudest voice (patience/persistence) wins.
Utter, utter fabulousness.
Is Apple buying NeXT or is NeXT buying out Apple with Apple's own money?
The power of the RDF!
What were Christa McAuliffe's last words?
"What's this button do?"

Because over and over again (Google it) Microsoft has said that the MacBU is one of its most profitable units.
Me too, but it's because he was so damn sexy in his long commercial for NeXT Step. I'm not kidding.
Sony Imagesoft made games for the NES. So, at the very least a DIVISION of Sony has been making games since the mid 80's.

You mean WEP. Wireless Encryption Protocol. Nintendo WiFi connection supports WEP. I dunno what you're talking about.
The Nintendo adapter also only costs $20 (if you have WinXP and forthcoming Mac OS X).
"If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."

See, that's just as funny, right?
The same way Americans think Absolutely Fabulous, Are You Being Served?, Waiting for God, Monty Python, As Time Goes By, Red Dwarf, Benny Hill, The Young Ones and Keeping Up Apperances are funny.

"iPod" is a registered trademark.

Dunno, how does a 66 MHz PPC601 motherboard with 72 pin SIMMS run a 500 MHz PPC G3?
The sort of thing you're talking about has been done on the Mac side for years.
Except that I recall reading on Slashdot a few months back (maybe more) about universal battery chargers that used magnetic plates to recharge the batteries, so if they made the newstands like that, the pages could then always stay charged while on the rack.

YAY! The window controls are now even harder to hit and the destructive control is even closer to the others! W00t!
