I have a Treo 650 and I have no clue what you're talking about. Bad for my battery, I almost always use it until it dies. Lots of people use hacks on Palm devices and then complain when it crashes, most likely that's what you're talking about.
My biggest problem with it is that the speakers aren't loud enough but I use volumecare to get around that. I also like MP3 ringtones and I use Ringo for that. Between the two, I'm sure that's where I get the random crash a week, but it's never been while using the phone.
As a phone, Blackberries are HORRID, the phone function ALWAYS wants to call the last number dialed, it's a stupid "feature" that persists in the newest devices. Plus you have to dial the number and then fiddle with the scroll on the right to activate a call. DUMB. There should be hardware buttons for call and end.

Most Mac users have heard of it by now, but I'm just giving them another plug because it kicks ass.
Um, no, it doesn't kick ass. It's not faster than Safari, lots and lots of tests have been done with rendering speed and Opera is still the fastest last test I saw (last fall). It also doesn't support extensions which means I can't use adblock plus.
Camino exists solely because the Mozilla user interface sucked. Firefox fixed that and I'm not sure why Camino is even still being supported.
Yes that name makes perfect sense. What exactly is Rendezvous, again?
The French word meaning "a meeting". Maybe in your attempt at making a point you meant Bonjour.
The point he was making was that a perfectly meaningful name was intentionally obscured for who knows why. Also I've never heard ZeroConf Networking Browser on any platform, but I know of Bonjour on Windows and Macintosh, as well as being listed on a lot of printer boxes lately.
I agree that $7 for audio content is pretty high when you compare it to $8 for a month's worth of a television show (we're not talking content comparison, we're talking platform comparison). i dunno why they don't just try $.99 a show. I don't like subscription models AT ALL. What if one month all the shows suck? Can I get a refund?
The DRM that you are alluding to on a Mac is the SAME DRM on Windows. FairPlay through iTunes. There is no OS-level DRM in Mac OS X nor has Apple or Steve Jobs even hinted at its existence now or in the future. Apple has pretty much made it clear that they think piracy is a social behaviour, not one to be dealt with in software.
Furthermore, you only have to deal with the DRM in iTunes if you buy music or video from the iTunes store. To date, both consumers and experts have agreed that the DRM in FairPlay is the best and most lenient of any out there. So far it has been a win-win for everyone involved.
The point of this is to help people going to those countrties make fewer cultural faux pas, not as a replacement for human interaction. I think it's a great idea. I think I would have learned French faster with a system like this.
It's more likely apple is partnering with Blockbuster on a branded On-Demand service that runs over broadband. Apple creates the hardware and the backend, Blockbuster deals with the companies to provide the movies/content.
Except that all the companies you mentioned do not RELY on Microsoft for their product to work. You need to look at the companies that Microsoft has totally oblitereated (Novell, Lotus, etc) to understand it is NEVER a good idea to not only be a competitor to Microsoft but to have your product's success based on a Microsoft product (Exchange).
Microsoft, and as good as they are at designing easy UIs
Uh, what?
Could you please point out an easy UI that they have designed? I'm not saying Blackberry is any better, after using a Nokia when they were entirely text menu driven then switching to a SE T616 and now a Treo 650, I have a hard time figuring out my bf's Blackberry everytime I try to use it. I don't understand why it always wants to dial the last number you dialed whenver you want to use the phone.
I like things that make sense, but that's just me.
I'm sure when the mouse was first demonstrated they were very erratic with its movements. In practice, I'm sure most of the screens going to be used will be smaller that the one demonstrated as well.
If people could just remember that answering a cell phone implies that the conversation is more important than what they're doing at the moment, and then stop and decide if it actually is, 90% of cell phone annoyance would disappear.
Doesn't matter, my bf works in political government and I can pretty much guarantee that any phone call he actually takes on his Blackberry while we are out is more important than anything else going on at the time. But you have Suzy Housewife on an outing who only uses her phone to spout drivel to Betty Stayathome so she automatically thinks his call can't be more important than hers.
It is.
If 2 people are on a commuter train and they are having a conversation, would you think they are rude? Now what if it's one person having a conversation on a cell phone? It's a very American phenomenon to think a conversation is only acceptable when the two people are present.
I'm not sure how Craig makes money, but I'm pretty sure it's not from advertising.
Outside of SF it's "owned" by eBay. Still dunno how it makes money (maybe it's not supposed to, nice tax writeoff) but that's where the money comes from anyway.
Well, if you want to look at at politically, these "graves" as you call them are not of normal, everyday people. The artifacts and objects that the rulers at the time put in them were actually owned by the people of Egypt, and now that they're out from under the rule of incestuous defectives, they want their shit back.
Your idea of "grave robbing" is like saying that when Reagan died, he buried half the Smithsonian with him and it's somehow wrong to get it back.
The articles do not belong to the people that are buried with them, they belong to the people of Egypt,
Nintendo agrees with you and that's the point of the new Revolution controller. It's going to be easier for almost everyone to be able to play a game with intuitive gestures than figuring out which buttons to mash. Games are getting boring. I love my DS mainly because there's so many new types of games, or at least ways to interract with them.

Hillary is a senator. Not a member of Congress.
All the Nintendo portable Zeldas were made by Capcom. Minish cap is probably the best.
Like Classic did. To this date the most elegant solution to the issue has been BeOS's use of MIME types.

yes, but is it lickable?

It looks like the Revolution is going to be a winner on so many levels. Nintendo is the one to watch.

Really? Because I think the victims of the domestic violence have a much better idea of the assholes cops have to deal with than the cops themselves.

I prefer just flipping the switch on my Treo.

Yeah, you were modded funny because you're talking about Slashdot and bleeding edge when referring to a product that is currently Windows-only.
Outside of SF it's "owned" by eBay. Still dunno how it makes money (maybe it's not supposed to, nice tax writeoff) but that's where the money comes from anyway.

Because you can't use extortion tactics against Microsoft.
Mac OS X has resolution independence already in Tiger, it's just only exposed to developers.
