I don't care to send data like the location of my computer or the temperature outside my window, but this seems a too "amateur" approach to data collect. For sure *I* don't have enough money to afford a professional weather/pollution/everything else sensor. So, who pay for sensors? Of course who has the money... I bet with a Microsoft-driven network to monitor temperature, prudent people starts to wear swimsuits under anoraks.
Don't forget to check your site with a lot of different browsers. Use Lynx to see what a search engine spider can see on your site. Use PHP (true PHP, not thingies like PHP-nuke) to have a dynamic site with a good interaction. You can also intercept the user-agent of the visitor to propose different layouts.
No way: I bet while couching on a WinSofa you'll have to pay for a blanket. I want a Linux armchair, with an incorporated remote to zap TV during commercials and a firewall on the phone line.
I posted 3 messages on usenet (one of them on no.kultur.diverse, a really quiet place) in June, and since then I got al least 30 messages/day. Lucky I made a trash address ad hoc for the 3 postings.
Great tip!
I saved their index page and I open it with Mozilla: it works, even the most of the links.
BTW, searching "bill gates eats worms" on MSN gives only one result...
And use FONT FACE="wingdings" SIZE=7 for it...
Then put some nonstandard chars, like Chinese, so MSIE users must download another 3 or 4 megs of stinky stuff (from MS) in order to see the page...
The real way for free calls is to wait other people call you.
And don't forget cell phones can cause dain bramage...
