"I still don't understand Mono. It didn't work for IBM to has OS/2 work for Windows programs, so why Mono?"
this is completely different from os/2
let's say that happens: if you can write for windows and make it work for both, then everyone writes just for windows, so then why not just get windows?
because Open Source = Free - if you can run the same apps and save $100 or more with Mono instead of MS.NET, you're gonna choose to save the $100, it's os/2's windows compat. prob. in reverse

to protect your brain from neuroacoustic degradation, all wma-encoded audio tracks will be replayed with a subliminal message from microsoft for your marketing... uh i mean your.. health
in konqueror, i get blocked with or without popup blocking on
in phoenix i got through, after quite a while.
Problem: users will not wait a minute to click a button to continue using a website. the word dumbass comes to mind for the creators of this and any sponsors.
Removing flexibility for better bandwidth = too many people pissed off! Open Source software supports niche users, and no one is ever going to be able to get around that fact.
Speed is fine IMHO. Maybe (don't know, don't care - I've spent too many hours customizing kde's look&feel settings) X is slower than the Windows GUI, but other factors (gcc + better OS) apparently make up for it, because I find LGX to run faster - of course, that's just my experience.
I don't see why "widget tunnelling" instead of X tunnelling can't do the same thing picoGUI does as far as bandwidth is concerned. So someone figures out how to tunneling Qt and gtk in addition to just basic X info and magically, X defeats bandwidth consumption by taking its "flaw" dependency on toolkits and turning it into the solution.
Sure, speed probably won't get a boost - but on my 128mb RAM P3-733, speed is fine, and an unnoticeable increase in speed is not worth the loss of the personality we can add to our interfaces on X today.
great, now if i line up my computer with an ir beam "up to 3 miles away" i can get broadband
i remember when i got my ipaq a few months ago. after a couple minutues of aiming, i could transfer files from pda to pda, without the hassle of the whole 15 seconds it would have taken wireplusly connect the devices. fun.
yeah, microsoft is going to support a company associated with the creator of linux...

ftp may be insecure but so is email. also, email goes across so many channels that it's more likely to be intercepted.
i am a happy linux user, but... as your users most likely demand windows (or at least use it at home) turn off "web-based ftp" in internet explorer and your users will be very happy; the only difference from normal usage is that they'll have to right-click and press "copy to folder" because copy-paste doesn't work right.
i loved watching the robots fight, people losing thousands upon thousands of dollars as sparks flew up and metal launched across the "battlebox"
but the commentary gets worse and worse. the last episode i saw, they nearly had carmen electra perform soft-core porn.
i'm sure they did focus groups. but people in focus groups are going to see fire and say good and see the crap they aired and say good, just for the joke of it. there are some things that if you show them, even if they suck, people in certain age groups (even if they honestly don't like it) jokingly cheer.

something's wrong when a company that actually registers domain names uses bs whois data.
the issue isn't incorrect whois data. if i register a domain and provide fake data who cares. but if i use it for email or something related to business, and the data's bogus, i've broken laws written a long time before we had dns.
how hard is it to type sucks?
