Toshiba laptops work very well with both linux and *BSD. Johnathan Buzzard wrote the Toshiba Linux utilities... http://www.buzzard.org.uk/toshiba/index.html
These were ported to NetBSD, so the Toshiba tops work pretty much flawlessly. I am using a 4 year old Toshiba Tecra 500CS and everything(modem[it is not a winmodem...], sound, IR, PCMCIA, display, apm, can suspend in linux, fan turns on/off using fan program...) works in linux and most everything(modem, shitty sound[8bit only], PCMCIA, display, apm, fan program) worked in netbsd. They are a great choice for those looking to purchase laptops...
I have lost **all** faith in the ability of the `house' to address anything. The DMCA proves that. Maybe they could just pretend they were addressing important issues. But then they would get less payoffs from (big business/labor unions).
....the article says that the $25 million ''could keep it alive until further funding is found." Is this implying bribery? If we allocated more to these missions and less to prosecuting DMCA offenders... I would like to see a manned mission to mars become a priority. Something that the U.S. is really driven to do. Like going to the moon was in the 60's.
i have always found netbsd to be much less stable than linux. however, it is a very nice OS, and i'm glad to see 1.5.1 finally released. IMHOP Netbsd is the best of all the BSDs. If you want an alternative to linux/windows, or want to run BSD unix on your wristwatch, netbsd is for you.
kudos netbsd developers...
I have had similar experiences with compuserve 2000...they use proprietary protocols, so you cannot connect in linux. These so called `ISP's are just con-artists.
fortran is used almost exclusively in the scientific community. it has many powerful mathematical features that c/c++ does not, such as dynamic arrays.
cnet has an article about the same subject. according to them, Red Hat's Michael Tiemann is going to be in a debate w/Craig Mundie...

vegetable oil at the grocery store is still more expensive than gasoline. this is an interesting novelty, but not necessarily a solution. how about a fission powered car ; )

any state government which uses MS software should also drop the case.
