i might be wrong about this - it's been a while - but when the Disney recruiters came to our school a few years back, they showed parts of this project as an "in progress/see what we're doing" kind of thing. anywho, i distinctly remember the section with the whales being shown, and the comment that it had been done by a Russian (i believe) team of animators.
yeah - it's showing tonite at the Cinematheque (at the Cleveland Institute of Art) at 8:15. i hear there's a possibility that it might sell out, so if you're gonna go - show up early - i know i will
these kinds of things always make me giggle. mostly because the big AD&D player in MY family was always my little brother - the same one that's in his second year as a Christian Ed. major. for that matter, he's also the one who plays all the "kill 'em 'n' nuke 'em" video games and listens to Metallica. it's just too bad that so many people equate Christian with being close-minded...
speaking for us non-geek chicks (though they'd probably protest if they knew i was trying to be some sort of advocate) - i just find it a bit insulting that you assume that all we want is to be some sort of martha stewart-talking-head-clone thing. i mean, most of us - or at least some of us - are rather career minded and would be able to understand someone who was equally so. okay, that's my shpeal... take it or not. whatever.
