It is called fear and consumption. The way to control; be it media or politics (what is the difference?).

You are only allowed to consume. Consume what we tell you, how we tell you, when we tell you. Or else! The world will come to s standstill and judgement day will be upon us. Do as I tell you when I tell you how I tell you.

But I read the claims and they are ludicrous. They basically state if you implement/use math in a specific manner, you are owned by us. And that is besides the obviousness to use floating point instead of integer/fixpoint (actually, integer and fixpoint approximations were created to overcome slow hardware). Once hardware is fast enough, you most often move to the more precise solution; there is nothing inventive about that, but a natural evolution.

    From the TOS...

That basically states: /. can do whatever it likes with whatever you write, whether you like it or not.

In all essence, you lost all copyright control on a post when posting it on /. because you cannot control a "perpetual, irrevocable" license.

The whole paragraph is a basic rubber-stamp boiler-plate formulation that makes a mockery of copyright.

That is why we export drill files and Gerber files from the PCB design files (not the schematic).

No, science is about "testability". You have a hypothesis and you test it. It can be confirmed, rejected or inconclusive.

The problem for the global warming hypothesis is that when all tests confirm it without any possibility of rejection, then we are living in a world that is no longer capable of sustaining us humans as a species on the scale we have now.

All controversy is based on the shortsightedness of mankind. Whether that is good or bad does not matter. When the climate wanders too far off the current balance, then we will go extinct. Maybe that is a good thing. You might though have some reservations whether you want to get to the point where your offspring is doomed...
