My friend built the exact website http://www.litrom.com , online donations to non profits (over 400 of them), only available in Israel though, for now:(
I use an IntelliPen (a better product than it's name suggests), ~$70 at Amazon.Technology is from a company called Epos, http://www.epos-ps.com
Can be used as a regular pen without a computer and STILL save the notes for use on a computer later. Useful for notes and drawings also...
" it seems to be working" That's what we (a game developer) were told, seriously. Having developed a co-op MMO shooting game, we were told to stop and develop an online multiplayer competitive one. Not just by our investors and industry experts, but by focus groups of 9-15 year olds. ( http://www.moondo.com ). While we made it non-bloody and fun as possible, the result is very competitive based. Basically, to develop a game these days you need over a million dollars -> to get that , you need to focus on a genre that sells -> most of the top-selling genres are competitive (not to say violent) , that's why you'll find very few good coop or non-violent games.
http://www.beinsync.com/ Does 2 way syncing, with versions and conflict management, offline/online modes and web access , AND includes group syncing as well. Currently windows only:( OSX and Linux versions are somewhere in the works. (full disclosure; one of my old companies, but we did create this software for this exact problem for us )
They have a realtime search mechanism that can search within Chat rooms also , and TV and radios streams. (Kevin Kelly is on the Board). Used to be a downloadable personal edition. there is a free trial. Not a plug !!! , they became a corporate (financial and others) company , turning back on "Free Information Now" roots. but at least it works:) http://www.relegence.com
