Computer Science is the science that studies Computers! like Math Science is the science that studies mathematics!
From this u can have Scpecializations/areas, like Information Systems(dbs,net,etc), Computing methodologies(ia,robotics), computer systems(networks, os, security), software engeneering(programming languages, development).
Computer Science as it state its the science that studies computers, anything else is just more specific to one area.
Perhaps there are other degrees related to IT that are more profitable, mainstream, popular, more profitable, better jobs, easisest to take, or anything else. But we must agree that CS is the basis on Computer studies.
So whats the problem with the delay?!? for several weeks (2 to be more precissely) mandrake 8.1 is available to download from an inumerous websites in US and Europe.
I had download all 3 cds in one night, only with ma cable connection here in Portugal from an italian mirror. I installed on ma box along with ma two other flavours of linux and 2 others of openbsd and freebsd. And i got amused how big the diferences were from version 8.0.
kernel 2.4.8, kde 2.2.1, gnome 1.4.1.
Especially the inclusion of kde2.2.1 that had been release one week earlier
So guys just dont understand the fuze about the delay!!
if u are in a so rush to try/buy, grab it from theirs ftp servers
GRAB IT or Shutup!

Its common in European countries to have parties where u get "free beer".
Beer here just show the intention of the author on making distinction betewen material and abstract things!

If EU has something, is atleast, the power to imposse new rules on others member states.
And if they are really interested on the usage of OSS they should pass a rule specifying the presence of at least 50% of *NIX machines in EU schools.
As a second rule they should invest more money on research and development of this kind of software.
For sure, those measures will cease all problems with American ECHELON systems's alikes, in a near future.
