... is when a windows exploit comes out, it effects most windows systems in opperation. When a linux exploit comes out (proftpd, apache, etc) it rarely effects all the systems in the field. I know about 90% of the bugs that show up in bugtraq and else where dont apply at ALL to my system because I dont run those daemons. Where in windows... how many people DONT run activex scripting or diable javascript in outlook?

but... about 2 weeks later as im laying on the ground getting my face beat in that thought comes to mind as im blacking out and i took a big bite out of his groin. last time i got a beating from him. and for a change, the school actually did something since i hurt HIM... when i just "took it" they never did anything... we both got suspended... but at least they did *something*.
Christians, Pagans, Muslims, Jews, Wiccans, Satanists, Agnostics, and Athiests, are all the same in one way or another - they have good people in them... and they have people who are assholes. Being of any particular religious sect doesnt make you a good person or a bad person... it simply makes you part of that belief system... it may or may not have morals that you take upon yourself. It can hurt or help your mental state. In the end each person must be judged individually... because a simplistic 2d label with a religious name on it doesnt adaquetely describe your entire being.... or even morals.

(I am not saying that sleeping with alot of people is wrong - Nothing is wrong with sexual experiementation so long as your careful not to have kids before your ready and you take precautions to not catch diseases.)

People can only be beat so many times and have so much ignored... if good parenting/friends arent there to provide backup and release of some kind... eventually people will snap.
Jaa, i came fractions of an inch from wigging out in highschool and going columbine... the only thing that stopped me was a *very* supportive mother and a few other outcasts i hung around with would go on a 'bully stomping spree' if they started bothering me to much... even so... by graduation i was tettering on the line... i *wanted* to kill them at the time... 6mo after i was outta school i was like 'wtf was i thinking... my god that time sucked, but im having fun now.' In the end i think that was the important thing to learn and my mother told it to me and my friends - 'highschool sucks, people do one of two things - love it or hate it. Just finish and i guarentee the rest of your life will be 100x better than that time.' I do miss some of my friends from hs... but those were undoubtedly the worst times of my life.
Actually not, i've been in companies that opened and closed every meeting with a prayer... which i wouldnt participate in because of my religious beliefs. The largest of the companies was about 1500 employees total. Not huge but definetly in the middle->large range.
... the isp i worked for had a full oracle contract and after bench marks, setup, implementation, et all, decided to go with mysql. The major advantage to oracle is that if you have alot of cash, they can provide support 24x7x356 support... then again for the kinda cash it requires for that you can hire a 'good database admin' and pay them and still save a few dollars. *shrug* depends how much of an inhouse shop you are i guess.

Depends. I find the comics very very funny but i worked as a tech for 3 years, so i'm biased. He's not making fun of the newbies he's more making fun of a complete lack of interest they take in learning more about computers... its silly to expect a isp tech to tech you to use a mouse...and after fifty people trying to grasp the concept of 'click' on the phone with you... *shrug* its a bit flusterating and thats an outlet for it. After spending 4 hours at a crack on a phone with someone who just needs to enter a number in a box that is three levels deep and easy to get to you get flusterated... alot. It drives you slowly crazy.
... Techsupport people tend to dig strips like UF and like to make fun of the people that call is simple: It keeps them sane. Don't get me wrong tech support isn't hard by anymeans, the information your providing to people is very easy to understand for someone who is computer literate but when your getting calls with people going "Wuts a dubal clack?!" or "i clicked with my right hand and it didn't do anything differnt" etc it slowly drives you crazy after about the 50th one in a row. you've gotta laugh about it or you will go nuts... i'm so glad i'm past my techsupport days... even with the laughs i was loosing it slowly. Spending four hours on a phone with someone who can't grasp the concept of right click, left click, double click, 'press space' ("You can't write a space how can you type one idiot! [yes he said that to me]"), and 'press enter' ("I don't have one" --> "how about a key labled 'return'?" --> "nope, sorry and quit talking in those computer terms like enter and return" *shudder*) doesn't do anything good for your mental health... and its an exercise in flusteration. As a gaming platform to some degree linux is lagging behind windows (though it has been getting better.) What kind of changes could be made that would better enable software developers to port their games to linux and/or make linux a more desireable platform for game development?
The super soaker water cannon with the backpack that shot a stream of water about the size of your index finger aobut 60ft? that thing rocked the house... armed with that and a few water baloons your set for a full scale invasion... it also helps if you put red food coloring in the tank.... but that tends to piss the parents off abit... =) Shadus
I wish i made decent wages... i don't even make six figs... i've been doing this for a few years now and am starting to look around for a new job since i got exp and degree... hopefully i can pull about 75-100k the wage i'm pulling now is a total joke. Although, the best paid employee of the company i work for makes so little its a total joke anyways =)
