    3" cds are cheaper, just not proportianally, then standard CDs. They sell them online for like 40 cents, while the cheapest cds ill waste my time with are around 50.

    they work fine in both my old-ass cd player from the earlier nineties, and the one i bought a few months ago. It worked in my girlfriends, my moms, and *shudder* my bosses. Though that last one was scary, as shes not the most technically inclined, and well, shes my boss, so I didn't need any trouble! (all of these are feed-front type car decks, btw)

    i bought a mess of those for a marketing campaign. The unfortuanate thing is that they dont make stickers for them yet, so i just use them for when im in a hurry and want like 5 songs, or a real small bunch of data. They work great in everything but my old 2x cd writer. The only problem here is that I wanted an MP3 player because it is skip resistant...plus now were back to size restraints due to physical media. Unless its really cheap, i'm just not interested...

    respect both ways gets me in bed more often than looking good or commenting on how the other looks good. Women have a hard time realizing they are real people thanks to society, it takes a couple of gentleman (and for all you hot hot lesbians out there: gentlewomen) to remind them they are attractive, intelligent, and every bit better in bed then men.

    its called showmanship. Like how, thanks to Seinfeld's character, George Costanza, I now know when to exit a room. Always leave 'em laughing. Thinking about C&H now gives me warm goose bumbs, thinking about snooby, *yawn*, see, thats what i mean. He was great in his time, and certainly will be missed -- but that shizz was just a little tired near the end.

    if you got the time, (and god knows you need the patience!) teach them to do it...a little hands on shit goes a long way. Dont use techno-geek words, and dont dumb shit down to "thingies" -- but a lot of girls will RESPECT the hell out of you if you treat them like people, I don't think a lot of society does this yet, especially young girls. Im still a little mean to my girl now and then, but it sure got my foot in the door to trust her here and there. (not that she hasn't fucked some stuff up, but so have i when i started this shit).

    I have one professor who wrote an entire book on keeping women in computer science, a magnificent brain, with a little vendetta against the guys, but has a really wonderful way of teaching -- someone gave her the time when she was young, and ill be damned if i wanna look at pizza faced white boys my entire sysAdmin life.

    your company did the right thing, I, personally, would have been thankful if someone had alerted me of my issues. I patched my servers with Code Red 1, I rebooted, I was infected in the 4 hours between CR1, and patching/rebooting my server. Do you all remember that first nasty day of CR1? That's also the day I got CRII -- so, on behalf of your STUPID customers, I will instead, thank you, you have done what I expect of my ISP, and more. I just wish there was someone like you to provide for my Rhythms ass right now!

    maybe it is any maybe it isn't. your company has a right to do this, but chances are they won't use it against you -- ever -- and if they do, do you want to be working for them? 10-1 odds suggest that they keep that shizz for their own protection (like if I, an employee of Johnson Wax, had the need to email Glad, and let em know about some new products I had seen)
    Stay out the porn, and high-bandwith and it probably wont be an issue. Just be kinda inconspicuous -- some dumb people at your company listening to .RAM radio will probably be more noticeable. (believe it or not, I actually found out our secretary used to do this, what a fortune in bandwith that must have cost! 8hours/ day * 5 days a week *....)

    the patch worked, it cleared my server of any problems, but it did report if failing to complete. Either way I can no longer "get root" via a webserver, and www.securityspace.com reports im clean. Now I just sit and wait for the next one! (Actually, compound this with the fact that my entire company depends on RHYTHMS, it has been an EXCITING week)

    except for when we applied sp2 to win2k professional and it corrupted the whole flipping drive. Am I suppose to do this to my webservers w/out taking some time and reviewing the cause?

    either way, we're migrating to LinUx, hopefully before the next breach

    as much talk as i hear though, this could have just as easily been LinUx that got backdoored and if it was, it probably would have gotten a LOT more attention, even threatened the existence of the OS itself, so CHILL OUT.

    we make a lot of home products at our company, you've probably used 5 or 6 or more in a lifetime. Our entire multi-billion dollar operation came to a halt today when our netblock was attacked by the nt4 servers and nt5 clients. I guarantee that none of those clients had the sp2 fix...

    shit, i woulda said that about the netscape one, but the browser "comingling" in KDE is sweet. I have always used GNome cuz thats what we have to program in at school, but KDE has some nice features (its fast as hell too) - if it would support half life, I would move everything there.
