How will the industry adapt? Implement the content on demand stuff for everyone, and don't complain if the people who are downloading the shows can't get access to it otherwise! If we can sit in a couch all day and get our shows on demand from the touch of a button i doubt we will be trying to download it from the internet and spend tons of money on bandwidth and hd space. Seriously, the guy who wrote the article has no idea what he is talkig about technology wise or "trend" wise. I think this whole file sharing this is a big case of the companies sueing like little babies because their product doesn't meet the standard anymore and they are too dull or fixed on the good ol' days that they can't come up with better ideas.
There was a study conducted at a sewing factory as moral and productivity was low. The employees only had 30 minutes lunch break and their shift was over 9 hours long. The managers decided that they would increase the lunch break by 30 minutes. Thus, productivity increased because the workers could relax. They then decided to include coffee breaks, productivity increased. Then they supplied the empolyees fresh muffins during the coffee breaks, as a result productivity increased because workers were happier with the muffins. Finally they removed the muffins, and shortened the lunch break by 15 minutes. Surprisingly, productivity STILL increased. The managers scratched their heads for a long time until they realized what had increased the productivity of their factory employees : CHANGE, and it wasn't increasing their priviliges that stimulated them to work harder beacause it was only an external motivation. We can therefore compare this to the reason why games would increase productivity : not the actual fact that we play games during work hours, but the fact that it lets us experience change.
If all the cell phones would support the same profiles standard, that is, when ever a signal is recieved, the phones automatically switch to silent mode, in the case of hospitals, they are placed 'offline'. As soon as the client leaves the reach of the 'licensed' sender, it switches back to the profile. Of course it may take a while to support this standard, however, if it is implemented then I am pretty sure all the problems and annoyances would be nullified, and at the same time 911 would still be available.
If i were to meet steve jobs right now i would slap him.

For example:

The answer to your question is very simple! Just get Linux (slackware) and set up Terminal workstations!
