It's okay, batteries don't need to be replaced until over 120K-150K, anyway. At least on a Prius. I'd say even today with hybrid and 50+ MPG, it's worth it. Especially since the car rides well.
If you're pinching pennies however, you're not near the niche market since it's not sub-$15K
The whole idea is far from stupid, it's not about money it's about non-polluting via car exhaust.
That headline is pretty damned stupid. It's like the stuff I've seen before on internet scams
"Doctors hate this bodybuilder - see how he keeps growing 20 lbs of muscle per week!" "The U.S. Government hates this guy - see how one guy never pays taxes!" "Women hate this doctor - find out how to get any women you want by taking this new secret pill!"
What he did was on par with me talking to a buddy on the phone and saying the same thing. "I'm watching kids, I'm wouldn't mind killing them." Hell, I've said that to my neighbor, before. In public.
By that measure, my ipad/ipod/iphone/htc hd2/apple tv are PCs... which is false.. because PC means "personal computer". It's not a cover-all for anything with a processor faster than an abacus.
Unfortunately, "normal" people only buy football stuff, hotdogs/hamburgers, and budweiser. It's the American thing to do! (how that came to be, I'm completely unaware)
Make this "black box" record the events but destroy the data after say 15-60 minutes unless an accident occurred
You're pretty new on the whole data collection timescale after accidents, aren't you? How is the "black box" supposed to ascertain if it was indeed an accident by your standard, anyway? You should really take that aluminum foil off your head.
Well, that's the motherboard, yeah... by that logic every computer is basically the same. The rest of it is engineered quite a bit differently than a Dell/HP/Sony/Toshiba/etc.
Actually yeah, I do subscribe to cable. It costs me $40, and don't have to worry about updating/maintaining a computer attached to my TV. I also have Netflix for $7.99 and I can watch movies through my ps3, apple tv, sony bluray, etc.
Then again, just the fact that you're using a computer to get stuff onto your tv makes me believe it's not about rights or anything else, it's just that you don't have a lot of expendable income. I'm sorry.
Yeah, the virtualization instruction flagset in the Intel/AMD processors that were invented only a couple of years in the past have nothing to do with any of this. (/sarcasm)
My wall supports it perfectly :)

Texas and Michigan are gasoline car havens...
They're probably the last that'll have a charging station infrastructure.
Also, have you heard of the term "investing" before?
I do not think that word means what you think it means...

We did not have a recession starting more than 4 years before 1979... at least we've exceeded our failures in that respect.
I'm confused, are you saying people who buy expensive shoes are dumb, or people who shoot people for the shoes are?
I'm sorry, you said Jennifer Government in your title, but said very good book in your post... you've obviously mistyped another book name...
how do you know that?
The burden of proof is on the accuser.
How do you know he will?

The lawyers will have a field day with this one.
I'm so glad I moved away from Maryland over a decade ago...
The state acts like a police state.
err... why?
It's a phone being sold, there's no diplomatic measures.

Societies fine in that respect, it's the governing body.
Subtle jokes bypass you.

yeah, it's implanted in their heads at birth!
The government tracks everyone to make sure they don't get near the grid! The truth is out there!

No, sorry buddy, that's just cuz you're rubin too much.
fdisk /mbr /dev/hda
or with Linux & grub:
grub-install
Both overwrite the master boot record. It's not some magical thing. Stop acting like it's some unknown religious artifact.
