They do tell you not to change root's shell, but that has nothing to do with scripting. It is because csh (and everything else in/bin and/sbin on *BSD) is statically linked, whereas bash, zsh, rc or whatever shell you may have installed through the ports tree will be dynamically linked. This is important in case your/usr filesystem goes berserk; if root's shell is/usr/local/bin/bash and/usr isn't available, you're up the proverbial creek.
FreeBSD's sh is not bash, you moron. It does have a few extensions (mostly to cope with scripts by 1337 Linux d00dz who put #!/bin/sh at the beginning of their script then proceed to use bash-only extensions). However, these extensions are only activated for interactive shells and scripts run in Linux compatibility mode. Using FreeBSD's/bin/sh as a script interpreter, it works exactly like POSIX sh.
Not if you want to be portable, Linux loser. That only works with BASH; many older Bourne shells will expand an empty string to nothing instead of a blank parameter. Hence the x. Moron.
Windows 2000 already has NAT (i.e. "Internet Connection Sharing"), the updated
shell (when I fooled around with XP, I didn't see any difference between CMD.EXE
on XP and CMD.EXE on 2K except the version tag), and credential management.
With the old WinDOS legacy finally cast away and XP poised to start making serious inroads into businesses and homes, full read/write NTFS is going to become extremely important. What sort of progress is being made on this? This should be a high priority for the kernel hackers of all alternative operating systems right now.
Linux makes good bathroom tissue, though. Only $1.08!

Quim. Bloody quim. Pip-pip cheerio quim. Quim at teatime. Quim at supper. Quim in a nice, pouting red colour. I really love manoeuvring my phallus into a nicely lubricated quim. My cock's a fucking metre long. Fuck you, liberal hippie.

- Download FreeBSD source.
- cd
/usr/src/bin/sh; make; make install
AFAIK the BSD Bourne shell is more or less the same as the real Bourne shell. If you're going to overuse the word "definitely", at least learn to spell it. Otherwise, learn to use a thesaurus.
