  1. this is nice on First Official CD Release of FreeBSD · · Score: -1, Flamebait

it's good to see bsd getting with the times and being released on cd. Although ms-windows has had a 6 year head start with the cd-format I'm sure bsd will be able to compete.

ever since windows95, microsoft's OS's have been start menu driven. MacOS never had a start menu, so there goes your whole copying argument right there, at least for win95 and up. Also, it wasn't apple that unleashed ui's and mice, it was xerox. Apple simply copied what they did, took it out of the lab setting, and sold it to the general public.

Microsoft's home version of windows has made a gigantic leap in stability. Compare windowsME to windowsXP. It is a huge huge improvement going to the winNT based XP from the 9x (dos?) based windowsME. No longer are users forced to deal with an application crash causing a reboot or uptimes of less than a few days.

Actually rdram isn't that expensive anymore, and you shouldn't compare it to sdram.. sdram is obsolete. Ddr ram is the closest competitor, and it's price is now on the rise, and not that far off from rdram's price anymore. Lastly, p4 systems run best with rdram, even ddr speeds are not as good with it. So rdram is not that bad at all, besides the rambus' obviously screwing legal practices.
